I mean, that sprite looks fine to me, sorta cute :) Not sure if I find the premise that interesting for me though, I think I prefer trying to make my idea and learn coding while doing that.
yeh im not good at lore, but the mechanic is like you can throw a spinning gear that when hit something goes to a random direction and resets it lifetime but i cant even draw a gear. Enemy --->

I think the game looks fine, it's a game jam after all. Also, I was half expecting the guy to use his own head as the projectile lol. :D

For a game jam that's totally fine. My main character is a triangle and all other objects are just shapes I made.

Your art looks cool. Seems like you're killing it as is. If you're comfortable keeping on as you are I'd do so. You've got a great look already.
