Loving the game so far! I seem to be having an issue catching shiny fish. I have been consistently studying the fish, and the majority of the fish I have should give at least a 0.1% chance of being shiny. While the odds are slim, they're not so slim that I should be 13,000 fish deep without at least one shiny.

The fish are also indicating that they're "Mastered" in my index despite not having a shiny submitted, though previously they showed that they "Need Shiny." The fish however, do not appear in the Mastered Tab, which is empty.

Looking forward to the Steam release! I already have it Wishlisted :)

Yeah, same here.
I am currently in expedtition level 5, likely had tons of fish mastered yet have never seen any shiny ever!
Like I have enver caught any shiny of any kind, which is ridiculous given that the game has been fishing for like literal days at this point while I am doing expeditions and stuff.
Like how useless ar ethose seagalls, despite seeing somewhere a 50+% shiny chance they cant pull out any shiny ever?
I think the game is sjut broken there an catching shinies is sjut impossible.not odds wise but downright broken in the game coe.cause otherwise I couldnat have tens of hudnrerds offish mastered (except for lacking a shiny version for each) yet haventcaught a sinlge shiny ever!

I can report that it is possible to get the shinies, but the odds are definitely off. I caught one around 36K (Thanks, Seagull #1), but I haven't caught another yet, and I'm now at 121K fish. Almost every fish I have been able to catch (also on Expedition 5) has been mastered. I just got the Moonlit perk, so I'm hoping that this will help!

press P it shows ur profile and scroll all the way to bottom which shows the fishing stats the real shiny chance which someone told me is in ur profile and the starting chance is 0.0002% or 0.002% to get a shiny but u need to upgrade it more

huh, it's 0,004% currently, a miserable joke.
you say upgrade...
but when or where?
I am at expedition 5, huddlign in the top left corner since only the weakest mobs in this map dont kill me over time, my hp regeen can hold up agaisnt them.
got all the upgrades so far in both desert and sunflowerfield, excpet for one that require an insane amount of golden corsn (like 10T or such?)and upgrades that require specific fish.for msot of thsoe the catchign chance according to fishdex is ltierally "cant catch".and the e250 empty bottled which shpuld be junkbut I am having seagulls fish in floor 4 and so far they havent found enough bottles (I aint gonna search for tthe bottle count in my collection among the 300 fish kinds that there are..and aside from that not much to do.net sacrifice wants 1T, forge wants 500,500,1000 epic aura for the 3 things. obviousl all 4 artifact slots with the best hp restore artifacts I have, all maxed out level wise.except from umbra bastion, cause that is epic so I only ugpraded it to level 6 of 10.
but yeah, at this point I dotn see hwo to advance. except to put the guy in a comfortable moster spot to kill respawning mobs endlessly or place him in the golden corn fields and let him work.and come bck in a day or day.haoping that the very few thign I can then ugprade is enough to let me beat the next hardest mobs on the current map.
no clue how many eons it's gonna take me to get to floor 7 from the start of floor 5 where I am now.
too bad the moster is gone, otherwise now would be a ncie point for a prestige of sorts...

u need to study and master the fish in aquarium in order to increase shiny chance bc if u cant get shiny u need to study them to increase odds

This makes more sense! Though my shiny odds were 0.03%, realistically, even if we consider the stat rising over time, a single shiny in what ended up being 140K fish is statistically unlikely. Moonlit definitely got the ball rolling, and I ended up with a few more as I left my game running today. I may have just been the RNG gods' chosen victim this time though :')
