Leather gloves are a hidden upgrade bottom left of the gameplay screen, "1" and "2" lets you see what cards have changed colour.... for some reason. literally everything else you said is what I wanted to say.
You're right - the (1) button on the bottom left allows for glove purchases. So, one less issue than I presented.
Here's a new one to make up for it - the three buttons up top (hand/poker/stats) don't seem to do anything.
(Also lost my progress after closing the tab w/o any cache cleaning)
All issues reported have been fixed, and much more contant has been added :)
