I really liked the art style, and the overall atmosphere was very engaging. The item drops felt a bit too obscured for my liking, and I found the game a little challenging early on, as there wasn’t much of a gradual introduction with weaker monsters to help teach the mechanics. That said, once I started to understand it better, the core gameplay felt good.

I’m also not quite sure what the thematic connection was meant to be.

Thanks a lot for playing and the detailed feedback, I'm happy you eventually enjoyed the game.

The theme implementation is not very mechanical (aside from bigger enemies coming with bigger life and patterns appropriate to a bigger thing) and mostly visual. The first phase each plush is a patched piece, hence the look, made of what remains after some cotton, buttons and fabric were ejected after you shot the older one to "death", for consoles you've got less pieces of metal and electronic chips and the last phase is things made of less and less toy construction bricks.

Funny enough the reason why there are not weaker monster phases is because we wanted to fully stick to that theme implementation, I'm also all for such phases otherwise and generally feels something's lacking with only a boss rush.
