That is otherwise a great suggestion, but I really originally intended for the stats to actually have a function in the game. Originally I wanted to put items into the shop that would boost the stats etc. So this was more of a time problem, not exactly an active design decision :(
I've only ever contributed to one game which made use of any kind of stats, so it turned out I wasn't skilled enough to come up with a functioning stats system so fast on my own hahah... though the stats do have small effect on the numbers of money the rats produce, bigger numbers in stats = chance for more money
