i'm a little curious- in universe, how does a braindance work?
i know they're primarily used for adult entertainment judging by what's seen in knot city, but based off what's seen in the terminal, isn't knot city itself a braindance of it's own?
is it more like an immersive recording of a past experience, or does it more closely align with the "choose your own adventure" experience seen in the text adventure itself?

A Braindance is something borrowed from Cyberpunk. Back in Cyberpunk it's a recorded version of someone's experiences, as in you'd take the POV of the actual experiences someone had, and feel what they felt during the recording. I'm guessing it's the same here.

We originally called the first text adventure "Byte's Brain Dance" because it was Cyberpunk themed, and it seemed fitting because of the second person perspective of text adventures!

I like to consider them different from cyberpunk brain dances in that they can be considered canon events in another universe :3

so you telling me there is in fact a reality where byte is so enamored by a vending machine that she misses work over it

We all have our moments of weakness :3
