please nerf bleeding and trash

Dr. Kel floods the entire base with blood from falling one meter or bumping into a door, and it gets really annoying because you have to clean all of it on top of the existing trash and stains everywhere.

Then, while working on 0.9, Nose apparently decided the base still wasn’t dirty enough:
“Hey MrDrNose, can you please nerf bleeding?”
“Sure, give me a second while I add even more trash to the base.”

Like, no normal human being is capable of making this kind of mess.

Cleaning is still fun at first, but when there’s too much of it, the game stops feeling like a signal-collecting paranoia horror game and starts feeling like a cleaning simulator with side quests involving signals and hash codes.

Now imagine being a new player without a shovel. You can’t even buy one from the store, and it only spawns in a few hidden locations that new players somehow have to discover on their own. Without it, you can’t dig up trash piles, and trash bags only hold a single pile each.

The game is still really fun overall, and yes, I know I can disable physical damage, but that also removes part of the immersion. I don’t want to jump off a cliff and walk away completely unharmed. The only thing I genuinely dislike is the excessive trash & bleeding.

I just clean over the course of my game whenever signals are downloading. I honestly think the amount of trash is fine, and it's meant to be used for crafting also it is not meant to be from one person. The base clearly used to be ran by multiple people until Kel took over.

Aww, I kind of liked the game being a cleaning simulator. Also bleeding can be mitigated by disabling physics damage. So any bleeding you do is from combat.

Yup, agree completely. I think one issue with the game's design, is that there are "secrets" you are just expected to know. Either have an sub-optimal gameplay experience or have the wiki open the side.

  • Traversing sucks? -Oh there's that hidden pair of boots at TR3.
  • Battery drain makes ATV unusable and the charger costs 2000 points? -There's one at TR2 for grabs!
  • The start is too hard! -Sell the 43 MREs in that hidden log!

I am aware that I can disable physics damage and I explained why I won't already.

i thought trash was a load of bullshit till like an hour into the game when i found out about trashbags and that i could sell them for money, it felt so absurdly satisfying to clean up the base AND earn money at the same time i could never imagine the game without those disgusting piles. Also, i'll have to look into the shovel, idk what it does yet but you said it has something to do with the trash?

oh, use it on trash piles (moveable ones) to get one trash unit. black it's  rubber, green - electronic, white  it's  papers, ect. if you  need some trash for scrap. or sale. you can also save some electronic and glass scrap to make fuses with copper wire from crates or other containers. happy playing to you.
