Aww, I kind of liked the game being a cleaning simulator. Also bleeding can be mitigated by disabling physics damage. So any bleeding you do is from combat.

> Now imagine being a new player without a shovel. You can’t even buy one from the store, and it only spawns in a few hidden locations that new players somehow have to discover on their own

Yup, agree completely. I think one issue with the game's design, is that there are "secrets" you are just expected to know. Either have an sub-optimal gameplay experience or have the wiki open the side.

  • Traversing sucks? -Oh there's that hidden pair of boots at TR3.
  • Battery drain makes ATV unusable and the charger costs 2000 points? -There's one at TR2 for grabs!
  • The start is too hard! -Sell the 43 MREs in that hidden log!

Just updated from 0.9.0j to 0.9.0l.

Really, really appreciate the added Nightmare toggle. Been asking it since 0.8.2 and finally getting what I've been asking for feels great.

What's less great, is that some items can no longer be sold via the drone. There are a number of items I just can't get rid off now without a woodchipper. I think it makes sense if a ban list exists to avoid selling plot important items. But I don't see why I can't sell those ugly small curtains, or trash can. You can't even buy a new one to craft into plastic scrap, since old and new curtains don't mix and match.

Another issue I've ran into is the ATV container bug, but I'm sure the devs are already working to fix it.

One suggestion I would make, is that farming feels too random at the moment. I think planting something should never just give you 1 of the same thing in return(with exception to the mushrooms and stuff, since you can craft into multiple seedpacks). Feels pretty bad when I plant a potato and an tomato, only to harvest one of each back. I feel like 2 should've been the minimum. And balancing can always be done through growth time and selling price, instead of nerfing the amount of produce.

Has the detector(the percentage on the top right of the screen showing the body where the signal originated from) reached 100% also?

You cannot save a signal until both are at 100. One reason to upgrade it.

Hammers just doesn't do a lot of damage. You'd need to hit them like 30 times or use a more powerful weapon.

Do you have a bag of shrimp around? That nasty looking and green in the packet?

Apparently there's a pretty decent chance of getting those when you order shrimps. I got like 5 of them out of a large order. Very radioactive, reduces your health fairly quickly when holding or nearby, also reduces your max health.

That's probably more of an engine limitation than anything.

It'd be nice if loop/shuffle would work for files specified in online.txt. I use it paired with file:// links to avoid wasting space with duplicated files in my hard drive.

Agreed with most of your points.

I used to exclusively use the ATV, but now they are so maintenance heavy I just have to leave it at the base and run on foot. It went from "useful if you have fuel" to "better not bother with it at all. The slipping is annoying but you remember the paths after a few times.

New transformers still shows percentage, just that you'll have to open the maintenance panel, and there's a little screen on the lower right corner.

The note is just wrong now. The to target the base the command is `sv.target root`

I was attacked by what looks like "gibs that came to life" around the lake, in ambience mode.

Not sure if it's intended, considering ambience was the "safe and not scary" mode. The immediate event before I got attacked was getting the axe from the shack, not sure if they are related.

Yeah, I also noticed when I jump into the "pool" in the office, the splashed up water, each drop looking like they have their own reflection, absolutely destroys my framerate for roughly 2 seconds

I would appreciate an option to remove dreams. At least in ambience mode.

A lot of them are quite creepy, and it gets annoying when I just wanted to recover some stamina but kept triggering dream.

The "press ragdoll to exit dream" feature/unintended feature seems to be gone now, so I can't even get out if it except waiting it out :(

Also, back in 0.8.2, I reported some scary events that can trigger in ambience mode(super fog and Skerfuro), not sure if they are fixed yet. I didn't see it in the change log. It was when 0.9 alpha was already out and 0.8's bug report form was closed, so I understand if my report didn't make it to the developer.

I'm hitting very high GPU usage(97%+) and ~40 FPS in particular areas. (Main office, the upstairs hallway and the area near the door to the garage)

The performance issues seems to be related to lights. As I can feel a significant impact to the framerate when I turn the lights on the upstairs hallway on, and lights in the ground floor hallway has a lower but still noticeable impact. Without lights, I can maintain 60 FPS without issues.

I then played around with the settings, but even with shadow set to 1, I still can't get a consistent 60 FPS. I then spent hours cleaning up the base, but did not notice any improvements.

I booted up 0.8.2 just to be sure I weren't misremembering things. And sure enough, no matter what lights I have on and off, how cluttered the base is, GPU usage remained around 70% and FPS is always at a smooth 60.

I'm running the game at 3840x2160(4k) with a 11900k & RTX3090. I have tested DirectX 11, DirectX 12 and Vulkan. DX11 and DX12 performed similarly, while Vulkan gave me much lower framerate.

Wondering if anyone else is having this problem

According to the wiki it is there for players to catch anything that clipped through the floor of the base. There are actual barriers in place to prevent the player from truly falling out of bounds.

Gotta say the collisions has been super reliable in this game. Can recall anything disappearing for me when I dropped them, so I never had any fear about putting stuff on the ground. Unlike say Skyrim.

(Unfortunately I had a piece of trash that half clipped through the parking lot so now it's just stuck there. Also a curtain with half of it clipped through the basement, so I can't push it through the floor nor can I get it out)

I'd love an option to disable dreams. Or for ambience/sandbox mode at least.

But I understand if they are part of the intended experience of the game.

I exclusively play ambience mode and a few of them really spooks me. Now I just watch out while sleeping with my finger on the "reset position" key. Found a person on reddit that said they have a friend with thalassophobia and the rising water event made them unable to play the game. When someone commented such a toggle would broaden the audience, and I tend to agree. And there's no risk of watering down the game if this option is locked out for story mode.

Ambience mode player here, here's what I noticed after 40 days:

Skerfur can trigger in ambience. This happened to me when I sent my Kerfur-O outside around 1AM. This seems almost certainly like a bug. As the Skerfur event is pretty spooky.

Superfog can trigger in ambience. Not sure if this is a bug since it's not exactly a scary event. But it does lock out sleeping/pausing/saving during it.

Dreams can trigger in ambience. Not sure if it's working as intended or a bug. Not the most scary stuff but a few of them, like the rising water level or being chased by shadowy figures, that gave me cold sweats.

Toyota Corolla can spawn in ambience. Not the most spooky thing, but I think it counts as one of the random events? Therefore I'm thinking it shouldn't trigger.

The version I'm playing is 0.8.2c

Thanks for liking it!

Indeed the mid and late game is pretty rough. The game was made for a 7 day game jam. Spent most of my time coding and testing the early game, everything after big Soyuz was implemented in a few hours because I ran out of time. And it really shows, all the typos, going from 100 bucks per mission to 10,000, state funding from 200 to a bit more to suddenly 1000, not to mention equipment balancing...

Really wish I had the time to play through it before the deadline. Of course with more time I probably would've added art or something instead of testing. Don't do feature creep folks, it's bad for ya.
