Maybe we aren't talking about the same thing but the mage is just the main character.
Ohh!? He's called the HERO in the guild. Maybe make them the same name so its less confusing?

the Mage has a separate upgrade tree from the Hero. Also he has a different graphic in the upgrades. Also I've never found him
