Anyone having performance issues in 0.9 that wasn't present in 0.8?

I'm hitting very high GPU usage(97%+) and ~40 FPS in particular areas. (Main office, the upstairs hallway and the area near the door to the garage)

The performance issues seems to be related to lights. As I can feel a significant impact to the framerate when I turn the lights on the upstairs hallway on, and lights in the ground floor hallway has a lower but still noticeable impact. Without lights, I can maintain 60 FPS without issues.

I then played around with the settings, but even with shadow set to 1, I still can't get a consistent 60 FPS. I then spent hours cleaning up the base, but did not notice any improvements.

I booted up 0.8.2 just to be sure I weren't misremembering things. And sure enough, no matter what lights I have on and off, how cluttered the base is, GPU usage remained around 70% and FPS is always at a smooth 60.

I'm running the game at 3840x2160(4k) with a 11900k & RTX3090. I have tested DirectX 11, DirectX 12 and Vulkan. DX11 and DX12 performed similarly, while Vulkan gave me much lower framerate.

Wondering if anyone else is having this problem

As far as I know a lot of people have issue with light. Had it by myself from version 7, but it getting only worse. Also sure it's somehow connected with reflections, so if it's possible to turn it off completely would love to hear how.

Yeah, I also noticed when I jump into the "pool" in the office, the splashed up water, each drop looking like they have their own reflection, absolutely destroys my framerate for roughly 2 seconds

Use cheap window shader, decrease shadow and foliage quality. Also 0.9k runs pretty good.

I have the same problem with the 0.9k version. At some point, fps starts to lag inexorably with drawdowns every second from 60+ to 11-12, and this problem was in poorly optimized versions up to 0.8.2 Changing settings does not help, even if you reduce the quality to low, it's just a crappy optimization. At the same time, I returned to version 0.9, and it started normally on medium and high settings. And yes, light consumes a lot more fps than shadows or post-processing, which is a big problem, because the more settings they shove into the graphics, the worse the game is optimized in the end.

Also  flashes of lightning during the storm completely crushing the game, I don't know what is this, but it's annoying incredibly. I hate this.

Are you using the right Nvidia DX version? Using DX 11 if your system prefers DX 12 will tank the fps.

no, I'm using DX12 on AMD Radeon 5700 XT and I haven't some problems caused by NVidia, fps downgrading exactly in k-version.

But have you chosen the option in the settings menu to use DX 12? If it's set to DX 11, which it is by default for some people, that would explain the framerate issues.

Are you using the right Nvidia DX version for your system? If your system uses DX 12 and you're using DX 11, it's going to make the game's performance tank massively, same for the reverse. If it's set up correctly, it should be much easier to run, and changing the shadow quality will have a greater effect.
