for the record, what even IS the point of the default hp drain in the game?
If you just wanted to limit people's play time per round ("kill everything within 5 minutes or lsoe the round") then a simple timer would do the deal.
it initally wasnt even clear to me that the small left bar even IS a hp bar since it seemed to tick away just like the top right countdown that had no explanation either.
thigns were rather unclear on what the countdown or that ever draining bar were, at least until alter in the game when they didnt go that much in sync anyways.
Also while it is nice to know that your damage does that much, tge game aint exactly telling or showing you what your hitpoints are (neither for max hp nor current hp) same for enemies.
hp seemed like more some internal stat than something directly relevant to the game.
Like when the game started all I saw was:
I need 2 hits to kill an enemy and even a single enemy hit instakills me.
that's stuff I knew from observation.not cause there were any stats, any "-1" hit display or anything.
and on top put the dubious constant hp drain per second that is present from the start, made thing quite confusing.
even now I couldnt tell you what my max hp is cause I would have to look up things in the upgrade treee since it only shows there as a tooltip for certain upgrades.
Basically I got no overview over any stas nor any way to look them up.can only jsut go by feel like "now I kill the stnadard soldier in 1 hit isntead of 2 hits"
Thank you for this feedback, this sort of detail is really useful for me to improve the game. The HP drain over time is actually to add an alternate damage source to the player that isn't dependent on the enemy spawning, which mitigates the effect of random spawns or missed shots in the player's progress. But I understand its a frustrating mechanic and I would like to improve or replace it eventually.
I'll keep everything you've said in mind as I work on more updates, and I'll try to make the UI clearer. Thank you :)
yeah, to sum it up, rather simple thing to improve would be that we can somehow see our stats, like we can actually log up our current max hp, attack, etc.
and, if that aint too much , a bestiary so we at least know the enemies' hps and such.
no fancy portrait or anyhting, jsut some "leicon" to look up "zombie soldier hp: 10 attack: 15 special skill: ..." or such.
few entries.
it aint like there are that many different enemy types anyways, like 4-5 enemy types and the 3 bosses.
jsut so I can simply graps what my and the enemies' stats are and can do calculations and stuff.
but maybe that is sjut my taste, as I am used to idle games where it's basically "get number even highrer even faster" and you can look up every single modifier in all details. (been ülaying ngu idle for the last month, so I might be spoiled there :-))
