Looks cool but could not play it because it popped up this error, sorry.                                                                                                        (I black out my name and the saving address)

According to ChatGPT that is  a windows error saying it can't find the file. Maybe redownload it to the downloads folder or something? I honestly don't know. Sorry

I tried that it did not work. It's a cool idea still.

The absurd story and characters are great, I really wanted to see where it all goes. Platforming feels janky sometimes, but it kinda fits the goofy box physics vibe. Loved the intro and the dumb jokes, especially the trampoline of shame stuff. Would be cool to see a slightly easier version so more people can reach the later sections.

Developer

Thanks. I am glad you enjoyed it.

The trampoline of shame was basically my last minute fix to getting people to next section. I guess I was too close to the project cuz the parts I thought people would breeze by, they got stuck on.

I have been thinking on how to make a platformer have difficulty levels. And I think I will try having invisible platforms that only appear depending on the difficulty level in my next game jam.

I think the introduction is great (and how could the eight ball fit that hole gap!?). The models and atmosphere are a little plain, but overall the control is pretty smooth. Engaging if you enjoy the obby.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

I got a good laugh from the intro scene! The game was a bit hard for my liking but I found the npcs scattered around the level to be amusing. I only ran into a small bug where I couldnt continue with the dialogue and had to restart the game

Thanks. I am glad you enjoyed part of it. Funny but too hard seems to be the consensus so at least I got half of it right. lol

I planned on more characters to interact with but I was burned out at that stage and I didn't have that many ideas beyond what I made.

With the dialog, the code is written as you press E then there is like a 1 second delay then you press E again to exit. Nothing is prompted. If its not exiting after that then I don't know. lol. Something else must of turned a boolean on or off.

The humour is great and the controls were unique and fun! It was a bit difficult for someone trying to play more casually, so difficulty options where you add or detract ways to platform around would be my biggest recommendation. Good work!

Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it.

I know the middle part is hard cuz I struggle with it and I play tested this game 100 times. lol. But what about the beginning part? Was using the balloons hard? Or jumping the big gaps? Or was the difficulty trying to figure out where to go?

Submitted

Figuring out where to go in the first place was trickier than I thought it would be for a first level haha, and trying to do the balloons required a lot of precision.

Drat. I didn't think those were too bad. Well at least I got people thinking outside the box. lol. But ok, I will have to work on my level design skills.

Hey, I tried your game and it was a really fun and weird experience in a good way

The whole absurd humor and story kept me going, I genuinely wanted to see what would happen next. Movement felt a bit tricky at times, but it kind of fits the chaotic vibe you’re going for

Nice work overall, it definitely stands out

I’m also in the jam, so if you get a chance to check my game I’d love to hear your thoughts

Developer

Thanks, I am glad you liked it. And sure I will check yours out

I liked this game, it gives me the vibe of Bounce Tales 3D :>

Ha. You are right, it does

Help

- A major help with the controls is if you are looking straight down, your dash will basically stop you mid air, giving you some control of where you land.

- Space out your jumps and dashes for max distance with those big gaps.

- On the game page, I posted a video of me playing the game while explaining my thought process if you want to know the answer on how to do it or why I came up with the ideas. But the answer is always cuz it made me laugh lol

I may have had to use the trampoline of shame a number of times. The movement doesn't feel the best at times. The humor and absurdity of the game does elevate it for me though. The dance was fun, and the ending scene got me with how out of nowhere it was. I think I liked the third section of the game better than the first two, but that may have been because I got more used to the controls.

Developer (1 edit)

O yes. I had to get used to the movement too. But it went with the box theme so I persevered. lol. I found it most enjoyable when chaining jumps together through the air and getting the jump and dash counts back after hitting a balloon. Also it has controller capability but this kind of movement sucks with the controller. lol.

Ain't no shame in the trampolines of shame. The boss battle is the most fun part of the game so I wanted everyone to enjoy it. And even though the middle section is the most "out of the box" thinking part of the game, I was worried people would rage quit from it. Either from not figuring out the path or finding it annoyingly hard as a platform section. But people gotta do the walk of shame if they want to use the trampoline of shame there. lol

But yeah in the end I gave more thought in the humor and "story" if you want to call it that than the gameplay. It was just one stupid funny idea after another. lol. But I am glad you found enjoyment in the game.

Really unique game! Where the audio and visuals where lacking, the story made up for it, making a compelling experience where I genuinely wanted to see how the game ends. Speaking of the story, it obviously was inspired by Romeo & Juliet, but it also reminded me of the movie "Waterboy" (I don't know if this was an actual inspiration, but I love the movie sooo!). The game play was maybe a bit rough around the edges, but it was overall solid (besides the river part, that was mildly infuriating). Great job!

Developer

Thanks I am glad you found enjoyment in it. No, I wasn't thinking about Waterboy but I can see the connection. On my game page I made a video explaining the game and honestly it was just one dumb thought that made me laugh after the next. lol
