Hello. Yes, once you zoom in, you can zoom out to the default RPG Maker value.
But are you able to zoom out further than the default?

Unfortunate, I'm not entirely sure but I did hear on a forum somewhere that apparently zooming out of the default scale is problematic?
Yes, that's due to RPG Maker framework. A tip is to start the game with zoomed in by like 1.5x, then allow your player to zoom out to 1.0x. this way, you get the best of both world.
