okay! I laughed at the linux only option so I had to try it (48 seconds before deadline lol). Maybe try using the AnimationPlayer node to move the goblin / player sprites (just a little squish or wiggle to give them life, also maybe just a little fling or flip when it's they're turn for an attack or something to show they're doing things going through turns, also stopping input to wait for turns).
you can just spam attack and finish in 2 seconds if lucky, so slowing it down to show the turns through some simple animations would give it more life you know.

I plan to continue working on this game, after all this is just a prototype. I will definitely add animations, improve balance and the overall presentation. I initially made it too hard, then too easy. I will work on a way to improve the game’s flow and show the enemy’s actions better.
