How does the game fit the theme?
It subverts the familiar card game mechanics by trapping players in a collapsing reality. The theme is explored through Environmental Dissonance, where surreal landscapes from Lovecraftian trains to snail villages shift the fundamental laws of logic. Mechanical instability is driven by the "Strange" rules that force players to adapt to broken physics. The experience culminates in a Glitch Aesthetic, utilizing a custom vortex shader and distorted SFX to simulate a descent into a digital void where "everyone is here, and there is no escaping."

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Music and Art

Feedback:

  • Audio was great
  • Add an explanation of possible round modifiers in the menu or hitting something like tab displays it
  • Add a tip that lets players know the value of each individual number is what is considered rather than the entire hand

Overall: Great jam game! Take my rate!

Cool game with great ambiance! At first I thought it was a variant of blackjack so I was trying to aim for 21, but I finally understood after a few rounds that you just had to aim as high as possible. Maybe using the blackjack rule could be a great addition to the strategy of the game? Also the rules of each god are pretty hard to understand, you could try to improve that a bit. Overall really nice entry! If you're into card games you can check our game, you might like it

Had to look for my big brain hat when getting the odd combo rule. Then I thought some thoughts and made it pretty far. Alas, the void cometh.

hey there, i’d say the best things about this project were the audio and visuals. together they made very nice overall atmosphere, however i noticed you didn’t make them from scratch, i’d like to know if they’re just some free assets you’ve downloaded and used or if you just used something and edited it. also the math wasn’t mathing sometimes. i like the idea and also the story is fine but there were some things i didn’t really get in terms of the gameplay (mainly the math in there). overall interesting project :D

I did not understand the scoring at all, made no sense to me. Basically was like gambling, I defeated 2 bosses but had no idea why :D
I liked the world and the atmosphere. For me the rules could have been explained better.

I was consumed by the void!! I got to whatever the boss was after the sinking king? Interesting game and has potential, but needs some polish. Scoring system is basic but got the job done. It did kind of mean I would just pick my highest/lowest cards every time, without much strategy. But cool submission! I think adding more incentive to strategize would be a great way to take this to the next step.

The visuals were great and I really liked the background music, both during the game and on the main menu. The games atmosphere was good, but I was pretty confused by the rules and scoring system.
