I quite like these 3D tower defence games, and I wish there were more out there. I think you've done a nice job making the whole tower defence system, with turret placements, enemy waves, etc. Generally, it's quite enjoyable. I've encountered a slight issue where some enemies got into a place where no turrets are able to hit them, causing a direct loss from that. I've managed to still stay until day 4, though.

Other things I like:

  • I liked the turret models for some reason
  • Interesting hill map for a tower defence game
  • Satisfying particle effects and sound for the bullets

Suggestions:

  • May be allowing new turret placement locations through the game? The current placement doesn't seem enough
  • Turret upgrading is a staple of tower defence games. It would be nice to have them as well
  • Consider adding a damage animation for the core tower. A blink of red will do the trick
Developer

I am not very pro at modeling, but it turns out well. Thanks for all the suggestions you gave. I will try to make more buildable spots for the tower. Damage animation for the core tower is a very good enhancement, too. Thanks for the suggestions

I want like 25 tiny keychains of the little martian dudes, I love them. I also had the problem with the blind spot on the tower where I'd always lose because no tower could hit them. But I gave it a few shots, to no avail. But I liked the SFX, and the execution of the idea was pretty good! And I see the note about the UI being jank on browser, it's fine when you go fullscreen. I don't know exactly how it is in Godot, but in Unity that kind of thing is usually due to improper UI canvas scaling, I'm not allowed to do UI anymore because I always mess that up. But hey, for one person in a week, good work!

Thanks! I’m glad you like the little Martian dudes 😄
The blind spot issue is definitely something I need to fix soon — it unintentionally buffs the enemies.
And yeah, the UI scaling was my mistake with anchors and fullscreen testing. Lesson learned for next time.
Really appreciate you playing and giving feedback!

Thanks, but unfortunately, I don't have any keychains for them.

I think enemies are buffed because of the blind spot, so I will fix it soon.

The UI is messed up because I didn't set the anchor correctly and didn't play-test in full screen. Will keep in mind in the future.

Tower defense? Good idea, tho. But i got stucked in the start of the game

Developer

Ohh, where did you get stuck? I’d love to fix that 👀
Was it the controls or something not clear at the beginning?

pretty good tower defence game! its just that before i even place the towers id lose my coins, so it times were my mouse double clicks id lose my coins, other than that nice job!

Developer(+1)

The towers are shy. If you double-click, they panic and take your money before appearing 😅
Jokes aside, that’s a bug — I’ll fix it. Thanks

One critique is less screen shake lol but other then that good job

Developer

Thanks! I’ll experiment with reducing the screen shake.

It's a good start. 3d makes it pretty difficult, since there's no visual indication of how much range a tower has, and it's easy to end up with a blind spot where no tower can reach the aliens hitting your base. Letting bullets phase through the base would solve that, or shoving a buildable platform closer on the side that isn't as protected.

Game doesn't end once the tower blows up, it keeps going to the next wave, but with the aliens just hanging out at their spawn.

good work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback.

I think the losing has a bug that I need to solve ASAP.

And I think letting player see the range is a good suggestion.

Again, thanks for the feedback and suggestions so much😊
