Whoever said this game was poop from a butt should have their ninja guys poked >:[
This thing is just brimming with charm! The soundtrack perfectly captures the mood, and the record scratches and sampling are extremely well done! Also the sax synth had me dancing lol. I don't usually like sax synths but you guys totally made it work in your favor. Taking in the stylish menus was a treat, especially that results screen! They definitely fit well with the rest of the game, but even by themselves they are amazing to look at.
The game art is unbelievable as well. The little guy's facial expression and design tells you everything you need to know about them lol. I love how everything is so animated and alive, right down to the pizza collectables! It was so fun just seeing what enemy design would pop up next, and the fact that you had so many different moods from the different tile sets was an extraordinary addition to a jam game. The particle effects when you land or grind mixed with the snappy sound effects made it extremely satisfying to just goof around lol.
And the game design is great too! New mechanics are introduced at the perfect rate, and they all have distinct ways of interacting with the player's move set and the other game elements! Occasionally, I got a little stuck, like when I didn't realize you could pick up the fan, and when I forgot that the spinning blocks disappear when you... spin (that one's on me for being foolish and ghoulish), but other than that, the levels were unpredictable enough to keep the gameplay fresh, but straight-forward enough to lend themselves well to speedrunning! The final level with the ufos was my favorite. :]
Seriously this game is too good. I keep on playing it and it's ruining my life. My addiction's gotten so bad that my wife left me and her boyfriend kicked me off of his netflix account. But it's ok because pizza game good.
