Super nice take on the card game genre ! I loved picking my cards by shooting at them, it forces you to really think fast and in accordance with what the enemy is about to play.

Bit more in depth feedback:

  • I don't think the manual driving in the world map is necessary, especially since you have a branching system where the options are forced onto the player anyway. It is fun to shoot on the tumbleweeds though.
  • If you do keep the manual driving, I would rework the controls, feels too much like driving a truck right now.
  • I think you can push the "shoot your cards" system even further. I would have loved if I got some kind of bonus when shooting my cards super fast.
  • The card order system (my card, then enemy card and so on) is really great and what makes the "shoot your cards" system so interesting, because you have to think in which order you must shoot them. The only thing I didn't really like is that opponents cards kept playing after their death. Feels like death should impact the remaining cards in some way.
  • The shop is a bit confusing, I didn't understand that the prices were matching the number on the card.

There's a definitely a future for this game if you keep working on it :D

Really appreciate the encouragement and in-depth response! I am glad you caught the intent of requiring quicker thinking and adapting to the cards appearing to tactilely execute your turn. You are totally right on all your points. A lot of things were left in a "good enough" state just minutes before submission and now we are looking forward to cleaning up the systems and really pushing this thing further. We would love to implement a smarter overworld map with some other ideas we have cooked up, combos or similar things that reward dexterity in the card play, and more! Great feedback - thanks again for playing and your thoughtful response.
