Absolutely adore the writing style - sets a lovely mood. Perfect ambience and ocean sounds too - though I wish the ambience continued playing over the introductory text for extra mood.

I was a bit stumped at first as to how to play the game. I found a boat and found a port lit up in green - so I led the boat over to green! But they wouldn't dock. After a bit found another port in red - for some reason the boat only wanted the red port. Not sure what the green port was for?

The upgrades didn't seem to work either. I took the "press Q" to highlight boats but nothing seemed to happen when I pressed Q. I assume this is what the instructions meant using hints cos not sure what the hints are meant to be otherwise. Speaking of - the instructions list of a bunch of sea references and not sure what we're meant to do with that info.

All in all the mood is great, but I wish there'd been a bit of an in game tutorial/some text just saying "use WASD to move the light and take boats to any red ports you find." Stuff like that. Anyhow just wanted to give some feedback on play experience but nonetheless this an excellent bit of work for a weekend.

Thank you so much for the feedback — I really appreciate it! 😊
We ran into a few last-minute issues getting the build uploaded: the project ended up being too large, and we had to spend a chunk of time doing emergency optimizations… classic game jam life 😅

The funny part is that a lot of what you pointed out (clearer tutorial, the ports, upgrades, and even keeping the ambience playing over the intro text) has already been reviewed and adjusted on our side — but we didn’t manage to get that updated version into the final jam upload.

As soon as the jam ends, we’ll post an update with those improvements. If you’re up for giving it another try afterward, I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts and see if the experience feels smoother and clearer. Thanks again for taking the time to write this!

Heck yeah looking forward to it
