Big concept to try and make in a week, a good bit of game here! The timer is pretty short for the first time figuring out the controls, I feel like the trick system could use some tweaks and controller support would be nice too. It's been a really long time since I've played a tony hawk game but I feel things like grinding or manuals don't work like I'd expect on the short grind rails you've got, I also encountered some weirdness with them and ollies. That aside it would be nice if there were more easy tricks to keep the combo meter going and varied, I think it would really improve the game. There is a lot of cool stuff already here though.

Thank you for the honest review! You were exactly right about the ambition, we were definitely scraping the line with the mechanics/controls even up to the last day but the system was built to be highly extensible so new features are much easier to bring in, we even built a trick config reader that allows us to quickly spin up new tricks for the system! Good pickup on the timer, it is an oversight on our part making it so small and not adding the character dialogs explaining it yet but that is coming in the next release!

We were trying to go with an "easy to pick up, hard to master" approach limiting it to movement control buttons, 1 boost button and 1 action button but didn't have the time to include a lot of key details in tutorials like how jumping and holding the jump while in air (for longer than 0.6s) while near a grindable object (rail etc.) would lerp you to that object and grind along it at the angle you approached it. We also didn't leave enough time to properly explain that pressing shift/ctrl/right click uses a slick cig (speed boost) while grounded and uses a slick sip (confidence boost - more air time/generous trick timers) while airborne. We have set it up so you can remap controls in the settings and have plans to release for touch devices, all part of the extensibility we programmed around! :D

P.S.
The initial list of features we wanted was twice as long as it is in game, we cut a lot of things because it was a bit too raunchy for stream but we can put that list together on Trello if there is enough interest in the game so don't forget to add to your collection!
