Short platformer with some cool mechanics.
It's unfortunate it feels quite unfinished in the art and music departments, but there's definitely potential!
Really quick game, I only realized the dash and time freeze after reading the comments lol!
Not bad, a fun little project. The movement is smooth and satisfying, and the abilities are creative. I really like the golden sand concept as you have it. I had fun. Especially when I realized how OP the superdash was, and did a run through while time was stopped the entire time.
I would recommend adding some pictures to the Itch page so it looks more legitimate. (Luckily, that's even something you can do after the grace period.)
Really like the special mechanics in this one, but I agree that we need a reason to use them!
Also like that you're not constrained to only managing time, but it instead acts more like a buffer, where it'll block hits, but you won't fail if you run out, that's unique!
Good foundation though, if you can find some time to come back and work on it after the jam - add some polish, and a few more levels, this would be a hitter for sure! Good work!
Very simple but solid platforming foundation that could be built upon and expanded. I would guess under the hood this took some real work to actually make it functional and all! All the pretty things like art, animations, music and sound is secondary to a solid basis of code. I hope you continue to practice and learn more by trying to improve this prototype! Don't discard it!
The blue dots are really hard to see. I'm also not sure where the timer was.
I will guess this is your first jump into game dev? It's a good effort! Functional platforming and an interesting gimmick. Hope you pick up on this later on.
Nice and short prototype.
The time stop and dash mechanic seems interesting.
Some improvement suggestions for future updates/projects:
- Consider a level design that requires the player to use the unique time stop dash. Plan the player route to keep them moving around to grab the powerups and dodging enemies.
- Add sound! Just including free to use sound effects and music gives a lot of ambience to your game.
- Try adding animations to the player sprite.
Short but the mechanics are interesting! It would be cool to see some more levels for this game.
Game is good to play. You managed to make movement simple but working. I am sure you aware but game lacking something to play. More levels would be nice and at least some music.
Can't play the game!
Should be fixed now
