Thanks for all your comments !  Indeed we thought about rogue like, and thought rogue lite will do the job, but now we wonder what we would have done if we had read more carefully and understood the real theme of the jam...  😅

That's for another time, glad you enjoyed our game anyway ! 😊

Visuals and art are very cool :) Was fun to play

It does not really feel like a roguelike, but still really cool!

Doesn’t fell like a roguelike at all, more like a roguelite, but it is still very nice to play !

The graphics are wonderful, the music fits very well to the mood, and the gameplay seems easy at first but is actually very hard, I kept dying on the 3rd level, even with 4 permanent upgrades.

Very nice game, even if it doesn’t seem the better fit to the theme, congrats on still completing a game like this in just 5 days !

So, no penguins were harmed in the making of this game! But for sure some were during my playthrough... Good game!

beautiful art and design even the game’s page looks great the gameplay is straightforward and with a good amount of learning curve however they always fell to the sides i didn’t know what to do when they get to the edge over all cute little game well done !

This is a good game! The loop is well executed, the gameplay is simple and challenging-- there's a bit of learning curve but overall it comes together nicely, and the upgrades are great at keeping the content fresh. The art is charming, the sounds synergize well with the game... yeah this is just a good game.

My only nitpick is that I don't see any elements of Rogue here.

It's very charming and I like the upgrades. While not very much like Rogue, it's still pretty fun :)

The art is the highlight here and is absolutely gorgeous. You have a great talent for illustration and it's all put together on the screen in a way that feels very cleanly executed and visually appealing. The ecologically-minded concept around guiding a herd of penguins is adorable yet actually fairly challenging! The stages are short, but there's a lot of technique in corralling the penguins so that all of them make it to the end. The upgrades system helps replayability a lot. I found the variance in upgrades worked well, and appreciated the light progression system by locking in upgrades, so that successive playthroughs of the game were made a little easier each time. Movement speed and herd instinct seemed to work the best for me.

Not sure I have a lot of constructive feedback. As a simple browser action game with light upgrades that looks very pretty, this game executes what it set out to do. very well. Maybe a little more of a variety of dealing with birds could help: standing next to a bird to wait for a progress bar to accrue feels a little abstract rather than a mechanic where you directly fend them off.

Great work!

Thank you so much for the kind words and for taking the time to play and share such complete feedback and it’s great to hear which upgrades felt the most effective !

Now that you mention it, I realize we could indeed have developed that aspect with seagulls further, even just in terms of visual feedback. Thanks for bringing this up!

I love the art and music and the doggy and the penguins. The power ups are nice too, gives motive to continue playing. It would be nicer if there were more power ups.

Thanks a lot, I understand and we’ve taken note  😊

I don't see much roguelike inspiration here—this feels more like a roguelite. Still, it looks cool and plays well, though it's overly difficult.

Thanks for your feedback !

You right, I wasn't familiar with the genre (and even less with Rogue), so we took some big liberties. I'm glad you liked it anyway :)
