I don't think I have seen renpy made with a turn based battle system like this, this is really unique! Art is cute and charming.

I think a little more explanation on how the battle system works, or what each skill does would be nice.
Also encountered an exception in the middle of the fight lol.

Thanks for making this!

Music and art are great. I don't know how you suppose to play the battle. I lost one time, put all in on damage and  won in one turn. There is some rock-paper-scissors, but how predict the pattern?

Jam Judge

Great music selection! Already feeling the vibes from the title screen.

Your illustrations have a charm of their own.

I laughed out loud when I saw Fubuki's dialogue Fate reference. XD

Short and fun fight. However, I didn't see the appeal of trying to mix up different actions. I went full attack and got the enemy down to like 10% hp in my second playthrough before she used her "ultimate attack" and deleted my remaining hp.

In my first playthrough I tried mixing up some guards and breaks but I actually was defeated much faster.

Some improvement suggestions:

- Volume levels between music tracks needs to be equalized. I was chilling with the storyline bgm and then suddenly loud Ahoy! made me jump. XD

Nice work.

Well that triggered all my nostalgia, I enjoyed playing Fate/Extra years ago, and really enjoyed the combat in it.  Fantastic work recreating it.  Although, if there was a pattern to Marine's attacks, I missed it.

I like the writing, and the art is cute.  The choice of music was also really good.  I had a lot of fun playing this!

I hadn't seen the combat system you were trying to reference, but I think I got the hang of it eventually - it seemed like it was supposed to work like Rock Paper Scissors?

But it was still a fun experience, and I like that you got to retry the Marine fight with some upgrades if you lose

Though I would say it would have been better to reset her health too, so you can actually feel the difference. I lost with probably 2 more hits left, upgraded my health and damage, then just nuked her on turn 1 cause she he no HP left anyways. Not a huge deal, but still.

Also I'm not sure if the display was bugged, but I don't think I was taking any damage, and therefore had no reason to use the heal skill, I just spammed attack until I saw a guard/attack and reacted accordingly, and that was enough to get through, for the most part.

The art was well draw drawn, and the character references (including those who might be upcoming) was nice, though I will say a random school background and library transitioning to the church was certainly interesting, but I suppose that comes from the jam restrictions, not everything has to make complete sense.

Regardless, this was a cool take on the theme with a neat approach to combat, all in all good work, and I hope you can come back to it after the judging period!

I think this was a very interesting take on the theme. That fight with marine felt brutal but I eventually got the hang of it enough to clear it. She beat me and I got some upgrade points but I wasn't sure how to use it. Then when I went in again marine hadn't healed so I just wiped the floor with her lmao. I really liked the art of them clashing. It had a lot of charm.

It's not my kind of VN unfortunately, but the art was fun! The refs were on point and the plot was kind a funky in a nice way :D. Well done!

The art was fantastic, and I liked the overall composition and presentation! Admittedly I'm not familiar with the style of turn based combat you were inspired by, so I think some of that went over my head, but it was still a fun game to play!

The turn-based combat is great, as well as the art.
