You have an interesting story here. The setting was intriguing and I would have enjoyed learning a little more about the Winter Blessing and what caused it.
I wish your choices felt like they had a greater impact on the story, even if it was just a small change in the dialog. For example, regardless of what food you ate for breakfast, you got the same four options to say about it, even if the options didn’t all make sense for that food. Having each food give a different thing you could say afterwards would have made it feel like the choice mattered. There were times where the options felt more like my character’s inner thoughts, which gave the impression of helping shape the character’s personality, and in those cases having the follow up be the same didn’t seem to bad. For example, when I was hearing random bits of conversations when walking through the crowd, it made sense that my choice wouldn’t change the next random bit of conversation. Other times, though, it seemed like my character was actively talking to someone, and in those cases if felt like my choices should have had more of an impact on the conversation. There were times when it seemed like no matter what option I picked, the reply was the same, even if the reply didn’t make as much sense for one choice instead of another. It left me feeling like I was more of an observer than a participant in the story.
The art was overall nice. I thought the backgrounds looked really good. The character art was good, with lots of expression. Sometimes the character’s expression didn’t really seem to match their words though. There were a couple of times where the words indicated laughing, but the facial expression looked more annoyed or frustrated, and I wasn’t sure whether I was reading the interaction right or not. I also felt like some of the times the screen went black lasted a little longer than needed. It made sense why they were dark, and the sound effects helped, but I think it would have been better if they had been shorter. Some of the sound effects were a little quiet compared to the music, though the sounds themselves worked well.
