I can totally understand your change of mindset in regards to adult content, especially due to the recent payment  processor nonsense.

Just sharing my personal experience in playing both Strive Conquest and Strive for Power, I've always valued the romance interactions more than the sex aspects of the game. The latter feels more like an added bonus to me personally, and the overall world setting makes the romance all the more interesting.

This makes me curious, though: have you ever thought of making a romance-focused RPG game similar to Strive? The emphasis would be moved from the adult content to romance, of course.

That's an interesting question and when I think about it, I'm not sure I'd be able to separate the two. Many of sexual encounters are usually romantic in nature and when I think about romance with no sex (especially in fantasy setting) I feel like it sounds very female audience centered. And then both strive games have very strong gameplay leaning in first place so the relationship thing is sorta secondary there.

Ah yes, I forgot to mention that I really enjoyed both Strive's gameplay mechanic. It is really addictive ,and is one of the core reasons on why both games are among my favorite. I've always believed that romance is best as a secondary genre than a primary one, so with Fantasy RPG as the primary one, I think it'd be an incredible combination since they both complement one another.

As for the sexual encounters vs romance interaction thing, I could only think of Strive Conquest's scenes. Most characters in the game constantly try to reward the player, so most scenes naturally develop into a sexual interaction. You do X character a favor, then they reward you with sex, or something similar. It's pretty common in adult games, if anything it's almost a requirement since the players came specifically looking for those scenes.

Without that requirement, most scenes are not restricted to developing into sexual tones. Instead, it can emphasize the development of affection or admiration of said character. Both Strive games already have a lot of this aspect, mostly Cali's route in my memory. Her overall character feels like an actual companion rather than a female character that the player recruits for sex, in a nutshell. That's how I personally differentiate sexual encounters vs romance interaction. One is more sex-driven, the other is more relationship-driven.

I don't know if the demographic is predominantly female centered though. I'm a straight male that loves vanilla content a tad too much, just for additional context.

RPG and management are somewhat different genres even though Strive is a mix of both. Other than that, I suppose you reference to romance as in more of dating/daily life/spending time together kind of thing, which doesn't really feel like the stuff I'm interested in making. Arguably it could make that even more interesting in making but it would make me feel very out of my place. My style is more of presenting some events which unfold character's personality, then reward the player with the scene which was what I consider to be the 'romance' in first placee.

I see. Indeed, my vision of romance is more laid-back, which isn't usually present in Strive games.

Regardless, wish you the best on the rest of your developing career after Strive. Looking forward on the upcoming updates!
