Really fun game, and has the basework to be one of the best pokemon fan games period. A few things hold it back imo, but these are easily fixed.

Biggest one is not having a tutorial option. I respect saying "Go Play" but when the game doesn't explain shit about the ability points, waiting, how the columns work, it's just obnoxious

Second biggest one is that abilities that utilize "rows" and "columns" don't line up with the abilities most of the time... that or the perspective makes these confusing and the rows refer to the 2 vertical lines rather than the 3 horizontal.

An example I noticed was Ivysaur. I'd use Razor leaf and poison powder on the center row, close column pokemon. I expected the pokemon behind it to get burned by poison powder too, but that would never happen. Instead Poison powder affected the rest of the column despite it being a "row ability." Additonally, when I used this on the backline column it only used poison powder on the close column instead.

Third Main issue I've noticed is with the letter. If you refuse you gotta fight the goons, but if you spend time preparing the letter gets taken anyways in the background because you press confirm to move around your party. You need to freeze the background dialogue so this doesn't happen.

Other minor issues have to do with pace. This needs a speed multiplier option given how repetitive the story mode runs are. Also put running for the story mode. It's a slog to walk around the hotel especially since you get moved back to the entrance for each round

Other than that, I really love this game and hope to see more

hi, first of all I really appreciate the kind words about the game, I'm really happy to know you enjoyed it!!

also, it's a huge honor to me to receive such well reasoned feedback, this is unbelievably useful to help me improve the game, I'm really grateful that you took the time to share your thoughts

I will for sure implement some kind of tutorial/instructions, this is actually something I had thought to do, but I wasnt really pleased with the result and ended up cutting it. I have some other ideas on how to do it that might work better, thank you for pointing it out...

your other suggestions are great, some of them I believe could be implemented in the next update ("running shoes"), while the battle speed setting I'd want to test for a bit longer since I don't know if it would break some battle or event logic.

I've received some other reports about the rocket goons event being  bugged, I'll update the game with this and a few other things fixed in the next few days, sorry for the trouble...

about the row and column thing, and as I'm typing this I cant believe how dumb this sounds and that this issue hadn't crossed my mind before, as I said on the game's page this game is inspired by unicorn overlord, and that game has the same "battle perspective" and uses "row" and "column" in the same way I used in this game. I guess I just imprinted that usage on my brain and didnt question it, even thought what you said 100% makes sense and applies to unicorn overlord too, and I for sure should have corrected it while I was ripping it off. I'm actually unsure if I should go and change the verbiage of this game now lol

as I said, I'm really happy that you enjoyed the game and thank you so much for the feedback, I will take it into account in the next updates

Hey I just wanted to say thank you for the reply. I played the 1.2 version today, and yesterday... and I really love it. I obviously don't want to spoil anything for ppl on here but there was a lot of new additions in Story Mode, and I was a fan of all of them. As for what I said about the rows/columns, I actually tried out Unicorn Overlord and realized it was like it in that game. Ik this is inspired by that, so I feel like a jerk for criticizing something that was actually being faithfully adapted.

I think regardless of not having running shoes, the pace of the runs feel better in 1.2 as well. It got very repetitive in 1.1 where almost every quarter finals started with bullying Falkner. In 1.2 I straight up haven't seen that event at all, and what's been in its place feels a lot more varied and interesting.

You've done an amazing job so far with this, and i really appreciate that you've gone out of your way to update it too. Thank you so much for this.

Actually I did find an interesting bug just now, more of a funny one than game breaking. Anyways, I discovered that if you play a round ending game (i.e moving from quarter to semi-finals) against the person behind door #4, the camera stays zoomed in for the rest of the run.
