Read that all out, I agree with all but one thing. They/Them pronouns have been used as single-person pronouns for longer than Spain as a single nation under that name has existed.
This is true, and Ally is literally a robot without a gender or even the concept of sexual reproduction, so they are referred to as they. But I am not interested in engaging with their lame ass culture war.
