Looks nice 🙂, but that's it only looks are nice.

No audio, no real gameplay.

Good start, keep going, or best connect with a programmer and a sound guy to make the most of your skills 😁

There is a lot of lagging maybe beacause the level size is quite big. This depends on how Godot is handling this. Anyway, the game is playable but it lacks some features. Perhaps most importantly, there is almost no variation in the level design. This means the player may lack incentives to explore the level.

Good Job! We're also new in game developer. Let's have fun together.

This is a fun short game for a 1st project. I liked how you already implemented important platformer features like jump buffering and variable jump height. However, there is a LOT that can be improved in this game:

  • The game has rather unintuitive controls. Make sure that players can walk by using the arrow keys or WASD, jump by pressing space or arrow key up and the attack button could be a mouse click.
  • The game's background is rather simple. Consider adding more assets and maybe play around with color. I like that it is already a parallax background
  • The level design could see major improvements: Make sure to remove dead ends (e.g. by adding collectables) and also build the world around the core gameplay.
  • A short damage indicator (e.g. changing the color to red) for the slime would be nice
  • Finally: Please add sound and music to your game. Audio makes a game so much more fun to play and can help a lot with giving players feedback for their actions.

Despite these aspects, I still had fun while playing and think that this game is a solid 1st game project. Keep developing :)

Hey Everyone!

I just added the WEB version so you can play directly in your browser!

Please note there might be a few small stutters on the web build (Godot web exports can be a bit heavy), but it is fully playable. This is my very first game and I am still learning, so if you have any advice on how to polish it further, I would be happy to learn from your feedback!

Thanks for playing!

Quite nice demo! Cool graphics and the controls are indeed responsive!

Would be amazing to have more content, I only found out about the down attack when reading the description, could be cool to have some in game mechanic to force you to experiment and find it at some point.

Curious to see where this will go! Very well done for a first jam!
