Amazing music!!!

I did not expect the twist at all. Congrats!!

Sorry it seems this video doesn't talk about these particular systems, here's one that does:

https://youtu.be/RFix_Kg2Di0?si=kudLS0aMWuff6TUR

Check this out, try to figure it out itself (it's just holding one bool for a few frames/milisecs) if u can't, there's a multum of tutorials (not recommending to follow them though)

(or woman or someone else)

I can see this as a part of a horror game. A good horror game.

It kinda reminded me of the first few times I saw Dimension X in Stranger Things. Same chills, or actually not, BIGGER chills - the sounds and VFX really make an impression. Congrats!

Issues I had (or almost had):

  • I didn't see the info on what order the 086 and 904 should be (it's 50/50 unless I missed smth, but I got it the first time)
  • The difference in sound did not work or was too slight to notice. I had to walk randomly, trying to find the levers

Congrats again, man!

I don't know how to run it, sorry

WOW I didn't expect someone to write such a detailed feedback comment, thank you ❤️

I agree with everything you said.

We run out of time to implement better FX for hitting enemies (they only slightly turn red as they loose hp).

On UI too, everything will be pixel art (except beam and densoul)

You pretty much foretold what our Steam release will have: there will be 21 levels (with the plot we had to cut on) each with a map layout including specific densoul structures. Endless mode will be available after you beat the final boss, so you'll have some ready to go ideas 🙂

I count it as a win, like in tetris

Great story, great challenge, great art, great everything! This is a complete game, and if I did not see your development journey, I would have difficulty believing this is a jam entry.

Only issue I'd point out is more feedback on getting hit, the seagulls could come from off the screen (two times they spawned right where I rolled), and maybe an effect when on last hp left : ) I'm very glad I could play it, it's my second 30/30 + follow

there's a purple block?! I thought there's only blue and pink XD

I don't think endlessly increasing the number of enemies and the amount of bullets shot per millisecond was a good idea... I guess the Trojans will be thinking, "It's a trap!" MUAHAHAHa ha yeah, I don't know what score I even got, I decided to quit after heading into the void as the music slowly faded, and then it started again. I didn't expect it to teleport to me >; >

Good first game

Amazing art style and shader, and nice idea with the comics!

Is there audio? I couldn't hear anything 😕

Unfortunately, can't say the same about the gameplay:

  • movement feels way too floaty,
  • no feedback on hits,
  • no death (stuck at 0 hp),
  • takes way too long to shoot (it could be a non-instant kill to balance it)
  • It feels weird for a humanoid to move so fast and not even looking forward, but backwards, and even crab-style

I think this was just too much for the 30-day, try limiting your scope so that it fits what you're best at 🙂🙂

The amount of polish is staggering, and the music connects so well with art that it's unbelievable for a jam entry!

Special grats to the guy who did the UI

Things that need improvement are the AI and programming (e.g., around wave 10 of endless mode, the enemies are off-screen, I think,  and unkillable, but they die after some time? IDK what happened)

I felt the waves to be far too short and didn't feel challenged; only the boss provided the actual fun of the very nice gameplay.

Ponder on these and then, if u want, I can see it on steam for sure!

I actually liked that the puzzles were connected with the coordination challenge. I could only suggest a bit more control when in the air

Ah, I forgot, at some point, the music behaved weirdly (changed or smth), and then it disappeared for good

I LOVE IT! This might be controversial, but I had way more fun than playing Portal. I cannot believe you made it in just 30 days. Gosh, thank you for teaching me that puzzle games can be this fun!

The only thing I'd point out is to let me see at which level I missed that one star🥺

That's a 30/30 and a follow! I want to play your future game

Thank you for the great feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it 🥰

We're remaking it into a more polished version and aiming for a Steam release, so these will be addressed right away!

I agree with POOGLIES and add that you should check out Coyote Time and Jump Buffering. Every platformer needs those nowadays, otherwise it feels off. Good luck with your development!

I'd write more, but I see my issues were already stated in almost every comment (difficulty, notes, tutorial). Cool job, I'd like to try again after the jam if u do these (IDK if it was just a jam project or u continuing). Good job 👏 (especially art), shame I couldn't enjoy it properly yet 😕

Shame, I don't have enough time to get used to the controls :<, but I still enjoyed playing it... That means this is amazing!

Outstanding work! Could use a bit more feedback on damaging, otherwise a full-on banger!

My game shares some similarities in its basic aspects. Let me know what you think about it! I'd love to get some advice (I guess you're experienced 😁 based on the entry)

Amazing! I'm pretty strict when it comes to rating, I'm pretty strict. You're the first 30/30 I gave. I hope you get more ratings

Thanks for the feedback ☺️ gotta work on the dimness without spoiling the mood

PS different densoul can be placed when you've got enough soul, I should have indicated that on the slider or smth but time 😕

Cool little puzzle!

I missed some music, and the tiles are highlighted outside of the "puzzle island", where it makes no sense. Otherwise thanks! It was satisfying to figure out

Hi! I remembered, and now I'm here as the queue is a relic of the past, finally!

Some feedback:

I'm sorry, but I didn't find it enjoyable:

The core idea is nice, and the hand-drawn menus look really appealing (even though they sometimes obscure important elements, such as the Return button, which is less noticeable than the decorations). However, the process of upgrading and viewing numbers is boring. Minigames were a possible savior from boredom, but one said I died before it even finished loading, showing a black screen (might be a me problem, but my PC is not bad based on others running well). Lacking SFX. Too much text, the upgrade effect could be usually shortened to three/two words

I can see you did a lot of work. I hope you can take smth away from this jam (maybe use a GDD if u didn't?)

I found a bug that fish (at least crab and pufferfish) say to cost 100 less than they actually require to buy them
Otherwise, cool game, keep it up!

I agree, feedback is lacking + I probably suck/ have little exp, but it was way too fast for me

Cool idea! And quite polished. I've only got issues with clarity and feedback. I've got no idea when I lose or win, nor what the silence that wins is, nor what made it win (probably too many enemies, but idk). Do some playtesting next time! I'm sure you'd deliver even better if you did. Great job!

For some reason, spamming up arrow passes the wave blockages. This is unplayable. Your game is beautiful, good to see you try, but next time try teaming up with someone who can do the gameplay and focus on the art, which is your strong suit

It doesn't work for me; the start menu looks correct, but when I press Start, only the top two or three lines render, and I can't see anything. I've got no idea how to rate that, cuz it seems the game is cool based on the screens and other comments, but for me, there is only a menu and a broken mess. I'll change the bad rating as soon as you show me how I can play it without it breaking. (Windows 10)

I agree 100%. You need to teach people how to do something before they can enjoy doing it. Try some playtesting next time, I'm sure you'd find that out after the first playtest

same

Beautiful art; I'm amazed at the level of polish that went into it! Congrats!!!

Sadly, the situation is a bit worse in the gameplay department, and by that, I mean the player movement not aligning with the level design. Decceleration wants it to be a Mario, momentum-based, good for horizontal movements; however, the level design pulls in the Celeste precision platformer direction. This creates discouraging moments when deaths don't feel deserved.
PS The gravity also felt off, maybe cuz after a flap it's stronger than at the top of the jump?

Thanks, good thing I checked this comment, I thought you needed to somehow talk with the people there

Had to stop playing due to a lack of time, but I should say you have my highest rating so far. Keep it up!

I find the merging mechanic quite confusing, but I might come back to figure it out someday

I agree with ironhandmd

(1 edit)

I've got no idea how that echo mechanic works. EDIT: can you maybe send me some gameplay to try and rate it properly, even though there's no tutorial?

Sorry, I can't rate you back, the jam only allows me to rate the queued ones
