This is a pretty good 1st game. The art is great, I wish there was audio. The controls were hard and it took me a while to understand that I have to shoot the sharks. So consider adding a tutorial (for example just 2 short texts explaining the controls, like : WASD to move , Space to shoot). The gameplay is simple and has potential to be expanded. The hitBox of the projectile could be a bit larger to make the game less punishing.
Overall, a very solid 1st game. Keep making games!
Nice game, especially the idea. I have a few suggestions for you that you can work on:
- The QR Code for the Feedback form didn't seem to work (It said that it had expired)
- The camera system can be improved. Consider adding dead zones, camera collision, etc. (This video might help: Video)
- I like the simple tutorial, but the text about threats (enemies, spikes, ...) could be moved to the left so the Player sees it before encountering them.
- Please add more SoundEffects (especially for the tsunami that slowly approaches the Player and maybe a SFX when you collect all 3 stars). A few examples: Walk, jump and enemy sounds. For the tsunami: Add a lowpass heartbeat effect or a visual indicator or sth to let players know they better hurry up.
- I like the art style and the parallax background of your game.
Nice concept, keep working on this game! Well done :)
Honestly, I don't get why everyone dislikes this. I did not have any technical issues. The art is amazing and the storyline is short but cute. I still see some room for improvement though:
- More SFX and animations will make the story feel more alive
- Perhaps more than just 1 background music would be nice
- Add more gameplay depth. I know that it is a visual novel, but I still think there is some other gameplay aspect missing that could make the game unique
- bonus tip: please export your game in a .zip archive, not a .rar
Overall, I like this short game, despite some issues
