This game -REALLY- needs better markers for when routes are opened and ESPECIALLY closed for different choices. especially given how restricted and bad the save system is, as well as unpredictable times when those restricting decisions pop up. I went through sooo many gameplay hours after already accepting the police officer's request(also not knowing whether or not that entire route would be completely deleted and unavailable to me if i declined), not even knowing that I wouldn't be able to ever seduce Katarina forever after simply talking to her once or twice, practically permanently ruining my progress for literally no reason. It also doesn't help that there's no rewind function or ability to undo or make impermanent these kinds of mistakes or restricting decisions, for instance my first playthrough I declined the coffee barista's advance thinking that "barista's route" would cancel out romance with Anna, but it just ended up ruining my save because no matter how much more I interacted with her I would never be able to do anything with her at all, even though she doesn't do anything important in the greater context of the story other than get some sex scenes. It's really ridiculous how completely permanent every single decision is esp. in the negative, it feels even rage inducing sometimes because it just doesn't make sense for a porn game to need to be handled so surgically/constantly consulting a walkthrough to not randomly miss out on something.
Additional less serious criticism, I would really definitely appreciate some kind of extra notebook function that allows you to write down the days of the week when you need to interact with so and so character, at so and so location, some things like that simply because it's not really possible to keep track of all of those dates and getting to each new day of the week is tedious. Additionally, maybe some way to fast travel between specific days of the week, like if it's a thursday now then I can use an option in my bedroom to skip to that date the same way I can skip to Friday after paying off the debt.
Final request, maybe add some cucking stuff, maybe bbc? It's not a big deal but I wouldn't mind it(Not with the male family members though, and not humiliation). Also more different scenes when you film in the studio, like when inviting Charlotte for instance I wish there was more than just the two scenes, especially the MFF stuff. Or allowing some mixing between the different things you can do in the studio, like putting on a certain outfit before making porn or inviting someone, or more options for what to do when inviting someone. The gym trainer should also be allowed to have her dick out while spotting you.
Anyways this game just has two big problems: the dissonance between the extreme cumulative/grindy nature of progression and the fact that routes close basically at the drop of a hat without guidance and the whole saving system being really annoying/inflexible. It's just a bit unintuitive and unforgiving.

decisions are meant to be impactful in the game; this is not a ren'py visual novel where you can just "let me go back because I fucked up". The game autosaves at the beginning of the day after the morning interaction and you are able to manually save at the room (it'll be 100 save slots with the new version). You are NOT LOCKED out of seducing Katarina unless you arrest Mario before doing so, as at that point you would be ruining her life, so no, you yourself caused that. You don't need to consult the walkthrough as long as you are paying attention to the dialog, what characters say, and the kind of person they are; if that is not to your liking, this is not a game for you, is just the reality of it.
There is a notebook function, once you wake up, check the calendar the same way you would check a notebook, there are not that many items each day that needs to keep checking. "Cucking" already exists in various places in the game and while not much, there's a BBC scene.
On a last note, is not really grindy, if you do explore and do things you find around, get experience and unlock traits, the game is pretty simple.
I figured that the intention would be to make things more "impactful", but honestly, there's no reason why rejecting a person a single time would prevent you from ever being with that person for the rest of your lives, and that's in my experience what happens in the dialog decisions for a majority of the characters in the game.
In terms of grinding, my problem wasn't that the game was TOO grindy, in fact that's what i like about it, the slow progression is fantastic for the immersion. The problem is that you can only save once a morning or by manually going home to your bedroom and saving, whereas it would be a lot less clunky if you could simply save at any location and start off there or even save during a dialogue scene. There are too many moments where I'm basically wanting to close the game, pause it for some time, or come back later or something but I'm in dialogue or far from home(and yes IK you can unlock fast travel.) and so it's just inconvenient and worse sometimes it feels more pragmatic to just lose my progress which is just dumb as heck, especially considering it does actually take lots of real time to do the "chores" of incremental progress especially when having to navigate the slow map. (btw i'm maybe aware that this game is probably much more complex than the average VN, so that's maybe why there is less functionality on practical ends that are in most VNs, but I'm just saying that it could reeaally use it anyway. Specifically I'm talking about being able to save mid-dialogue, have better access to saving, being able to "pause", adjust volume settings[IMPORTANT] and other settings mid-dialogue, for the sake of clarity.)
As for the notebook, yes I'm aware of the quest/to-do function, but all of the days of the week which correspond to which characters must be interacted with are listed off sometimes only one time by the character and then the only way to keep it in mind is by memorizing. The notebook does have days of the week listed for *certain* characters and events and interactions but it's like 10% of every single person that you can romance, and even then there are sidequests and other such things, I'm not entirely sure if for instance meeting Charlotte in the garage on a Thursday is listed on the to-do list at some point, but just for lack of a better example.(Another example is the date for meeting Toni at the bar, I saw the information once and then immediately forgot it, and I'm now almost on my sixth race won atp and I still don't know the date, she has no dialogue which reminds you, which means I'm gonna have to consult the walkthrough or just waste my time trial-and-erroring travelling to the bar for five days) Honestly all I'd like is just like a page you can manually write in for the more intricate memorizations and goals. Otherwise it's way too much to track on your own honestly. I don't want to have to exit the game to be able to properly strategize how to do it better yk
Anyways thank you for the civil response and for responding generally, I just very much prioritize immersion primarily for nsfw games, so when I came across this game, I was amazed at how gigantic and expansive(and good!) it was, but also there was just some core elements that really just got in the way of that. ty ^^
No worries. The thing with allowing the choice to keep popping up(like it would be in real life as you advises) is just regular vn mechanic to be only once with most of the characters, harsh, maybe, but is as to make decisions really matter to a character, I see your point, but is just the vn aspec of handling things.
As for the saving at any place, any time. This is because of the variables are handled, not possible at the moment without heavy investment into it, it is something that is wanted but that also requires a lot of focus.
Btw on the matter of the notebook, I referred to the calendar, not the quest log. There you'll be able to see important things like Toni's Bar date on Thursdays and Alice's visits on Wednesday.
Also, is ok to point out stuff that feel off, as long as the feedback is constructive and delivered in a well mannered way, there is no problem.

Hi. new fan of the game. Love the artstyle (80s miami city vibes). Played both routes sharing and harem one. And honestly not fan of sharing, more a harem enjoyer. Here are some of my suggestions:
There's a chance for another character to join the studio, it would be after a quest to join, but this plan is for just 1 other character. No other characters will be added to this function.
There is already a solo route for Samantha, you lose most of her content but there is. As for Haniya, no, there will never be a steal route for her, you either accept Gabriel's share, or you don't. As for Tristan, those can be considered background npc, Tristan has no relation to them, but maybe if there would be time, it would be possible.
Alice is kind of bugged for the invitation but is getting fixed for the new version.
The route for betraying Zhen already exists but is very unlikely for Nyx to join for DnD.
There won't be a gallery, if one is implemented it will be only for non-repeatable scenes.
The Kimuras are not totally finished, and you might see more of them.
Just don't tell Kirby about being with Robert, or don't ask Robert about it. Other than that, there won't be a "steal" route for them.

the first day after Anna tell you about starmaker page, the player notice the bath door is open, when you go in you see Anna taking bath and you can take a photo of her (naked)
isnt this very fast and not very logical to see Anna tits in the first day of the game ?

It would be nice if the picture was taken from behind, as if Anna did not know, since the picture you get is streight from the front/side, where it looks like Anna is looking at you while you take the photo. A rework where Anna is perhaps looking up or closing her eyes since its under the shower would have been cool.

1. Unlikely as the impregnation is currently mapped out be a narrow path, with the payoff implemented in the end CG (not like a Summer Time Saga game mechanic)
2. This would require a redraw off every single CG, it will not happen.
3. Think Ken is planned (at least a method of inviting him to the studio when down the Samantha path) think Master Zhen is complete, but there will sure be more share content with other characters...
1. As predicted, not something that will be done. Pregnancy content won't be a system, unless later changed, it will stay as a series of events with a payoff.
2. Variations of scenes are possible but not this as it would require a lot of work remaking most of the interactable scenes and doing just the sprite wouldn't work for consistency, and if done for Anna it will most likely be requested for the other girls.
3. Anna will have more shared content; there's plans to make the Anna route available if Ken loses his v to Samantha. Zhen is mostly completed but it could see a scene in the future (not a bad chance, but not a guaranteed)
Is still undecided if pregnancy will be 1.9 or 2.0 with the reworked endings, other than that no other information is to be made public as it can change at any second, the one thing to always say is that it won't be a pregnancy system like some other games have. No plans as of now for translations, but it has been thought out a bit, if feasible and given the time, at least translation for the most common language will be done, this is not guaranteed, and it has low chances but is still a possibility. Other than that, it would depend on mods.

sorry, that's one of the main concepts of the game, decisions matter, there won't be a cheat mode for unlocking everything, and is anyways not possible to see everything in a single playthrough because of that same reason, different paths get you to different interactions. At the most, a gallery for NON-REPEATABLE scenes might be added, but this is not a guaranteed.

Right now, it has far fewer CGs compared to the slut route. I think it would be great to add some "NTL" content centered around Joseph—like, after confessing to him, we don't have to share Anna with Joseph, and we don't have to drive him away either. I know this game is under development so maybe you will add sharing routes and stuff but i strongly suggest that regardless of how many sharing routes will be added there should be a storyline of without sharing anyone with great scenes and still that storyline feels worth it playing, it should not be like if you don't use sharing route there will be very fewer scenes compared to sharing routes because I know there must be several people who don't like sharing route and maybe they didn't even try to touch that routes.
Can you add a feature to replay the game /new saves starting from previous major checkpoints? Like at the beginning and end of each Anna heart.
Also, pregnancy stuff with Anna? She mentions it like multiple times so I think it would be interesting, but it would probably take lots of sequential updates but I think it would flesh out her storyline and just be really good in general.
Last, and also just really small, but can we just be taken directly back to the game instead of main title after playing out the ending epilogues?
1. There's no need, with the new save system you'll have 100 slots to manage that.
2. There will be pregnancy content, as always, this WON'T be a system but more of a series of events. Not set in stone yet.
3. Maybe, if the way of saving variables change or as a last change, but not planned at the moment.

It already quicksaves so I figured those points could stay as permanent quicksave points, so being 8 in total it's reasonable.
Going back to title and not being able to continue off after the fact instead of before for the endings is annoying tbh. I don't know how your game does saves but I don't imagine it's that difficult or against its structure.

is understandable that the way the endings kick the player back to the main screen might not be appealing to some user. The endings will be reworked in either 1.9 or 2.0 so that is something that will be taken into consideration.
As for where or how to save, since some time ago a button showing most important HUD elements was introduced, is the "?" icon at the top menu.

In all seriousness, our only hope for animations at this stage is if the Starmaker Spinoff gets selected as the next project. Then it is built from the ground up with animations in mind. The time to push this point is when Starmaker has been released on Steam. For the time being you will just get a simple no.

Here are some ideas you could add to the game.
Sorry if something is repeated or if someone has already mentioned it.
1-Time periods (morning, afternoon, evening, night), making establishments have opening hours or events. (This would be complicated because of the content already created.)
2-Survival mode where the player needs to eat and stay clean since there’s already a shower and the option to bathe. Of course, it wouldn’t need to be mandatory—just an optional mode the player could choose at the start.
3-Add a museum where players can donate money.
4-Add a casino with minigames (blackjack, and the other card game).
5-Add places to travel (Rome or Greece, Egypt) with challenges to complete.
6-Add a gallery mode in the menu to view scenes and routes. (This could be a 100% completion achievement on Steam—I’m not sure if the game will have Steam achievements.)
7-Add houses for NPCs.
8-Allow the player to buy a house.
9-Allow the player to buy a studio or use the existing one to create Starmaker content for other girls.
10-Use the wardrobe to change Anna’s clothes.
11-Add content or routes for Zuri, Norah, Charlotte, Isabella, Liz, Sofia, Dr. Frost & Nurse Nina, Tasha, Ms. Kimura, Astrid, Antonia, Himari, Alice, Celeste, Miss Zero. (Ignore the ones that already have routes; in that case I mean more content.)
12-In the mafia storyline, the boss could be male or female, chosen by the player. (This would generate content for Sofia.)
13-Take Anna, Samantha, or Alice to Japan for a cosplay event, or take Adrian to Starcon.
14-Use the phone to invite girls on a date.
15-Go to Hell on Halloween, either alone or with Adrian or Alice.
16-Add a nun to the church.
17-Add content for the Starmaker girls (Ms. Umbra, DreamyWisp, Rose—for those who like that style).
18-Himari wearing a dress at the end-of-year event.
19-Take other girls to the end-of-year event at the house.
20-Make the player visible during conversations.
I know it’s a lot, and some things would be difficult to add because of the existing content, but these are just ideas. And even though Starmaker Story isn’t the main focus of the team, you have a gem here please don’t abandon the game.

1. This won't be done. It would be a huge modification of the current system.
2. No plans to do this, as is not really a feature that the game aims to do.
3/4. Could happen to add other locations but it's unlikely, the casino is a no for that kind of minigames.
5. No more vacation spots will be added.
6. Has been advised before, if a gallery is made, it will only be for non-repeatable scenes.
7. Some npc have house locations, it is unlikely to add more as there's a lot of npcs.
8. There is plans to tie a purchase of a house to the endings once those are reworked.
9. Negative, no other girl will have a Starmaker page and at most, only 1 more character will join the studio (after a quest for it).
10. Anna's clothes won't be customizable.
11. Most of those have routes, characters in Starmaker have personality so not everyone is fine going into a relationship with mc.
12. There won't be changes to existing characters.
13. A solo route for Japan is planned. Its undecided how it will be handled but Samantha nor Alice will be included.
14. Unlikely to happen as the "phone" is basically a skill to call Anna for outdoor pictures, not an actual mechanic/system of the game.
15. Could happen as an Easteregg but is unlikely.
16. There are chances but always keep in mind new characters are kept to a minimum as the plan is to increase the current ones content.
17. There won't be content for these characters as those are raffle winners's requests. One could request for winning a raffle, but those are stopped.

i would like to suggest more BDSM or kinky (and consensual) content. I think it would be cool to have a free use option for anna slut route. Maybe add the option to make a dungeon in the basement with options for content with objects that you buy in the adult shop. things like whips, waxplay, a Wooden horse, bondage and like. In the same tone (but not as consensual), i think it would be cool to have the option to imprision Nyxara an have master Zahen torture her for her crimes.
I cannot wrap my head around what you are saying sorry Doc. I can understand delaying for getting more engagement for pushing a game live on a Friday on itch or you need a little more testing and bug fixing time and even getting the Player Walkthrough Guide ready. But purely pushing a release because some feedback was I am busy on Wednesday does not make sense to me at all?

You being for real, even in my prime Uni day's I could not keep up with the MC in this game 😭 If you mean outdoor photo's I agree it would be nice if the developer added a sex option after taking an image. That being said I would also like it if there were more opportunities for photos and interactions with Anna at home and around the map. But it is all about what the developers wants and has time for at the end of the day.

saying the content is limited on this game when its actually a lot makes me think you haven't played it, or simply haven't interacted with characters. Your example alone of the beach of "cannot do a thing" is already wrong when there's multiple characters with scenes there.
Instead of a phone to call the girls to have sex, the world feels more alive because you find them doing their own thing, they are not "sluts" in the matter of the word, Anna while even on slut path can be considered slutty, and will depend more on what the player wants her to do.
The outdoor call system could see more to it, but its main concept was more risqué pics outside.
Honestly, of all the things said, I only agree with what my friend ckyman said, being able to have sex with Anna after the photos would be cool
I don't even think it needs to be in every photo, but in specific places like the park's bathroom and maybe at the club

i rather have a working game then one that doesn't regardless of if the scheduled update is postponed or not, i see no point in being angry because someone is trying to perfect their product(doing their job) before they release it. i can relate to disappointment but not being angry about it, if anything id be angry if they just release a unplayable game/new version not testing or fixing things, just putting it out there with no clue if its working correctly or not is worse then delays, but i doubt id be angry for that either :P

I am not being greedy here, I was on steam for starmaker, one of my accounts wishlist it already (ACC name is confidential), the thing is that I would really appreciate it if you could add customisable clothing features for each star level for Anna and Katarina, including MC. You know Anna only wearing fewer outfits outdoor or indoor instead of studio is something that is bothering for most of us who love this game. In fact, repeatedly postponing release dates is a common occurrence in my line of work, which usually means that issues keep surfacing during the final testing phase. However, last night I saw a post where the author claimed the delay was to allow some users to enjoy the game over the weekend—this gave me real hope that I'd be able to play it today. But now it's clearly evident that wasn't the reason at all, and I find that really disappointing.
it's very inconvenient that the game is completely in English, and many people would like to see it in their own language. You can add the option " community translation"(or something else), and other users who know the language can vote and make edits. For example, if I know Russian and post a translation (somewhere), people who also know Russian can vote (among the other posted translations), or simply choose people who are willing to translate it.
I don't know how to implement this technically, but I hope you can find a solution.
Starmaker Fam, not to sound like a suck up but before flooding the threads with how pissed and disappointed you are due to the delays. Please keep in mind game development (heck any software development) is difficult and time consuming. The slightest change can create multiple unforeseen bugs and requires rigorous regression testing just to get a stable release. I know it sucks, but you would be more upset playing a game which glitches out and ruins your immersion.
I have mentioned to Dr.Muramasa on a number of occasions that communication could be handled a lot better, and I truly hope this is a focus point for future patches and projects.
I am just saying the last thing Kal needs right now is a load of grief when he is all on his own, working stupid hours and burning himself out.
If that's the case as you said, why not just perfect it first and then release the full version? The current situation is just constantly changing the release date and making us wait. Why are there still bugs every time after the release? If what you said is true, you should release a game with absolutely no bugs.
While I understand, main issue is really communication and time management.
The game is in a early access state, we are testing a game that is in development. The information screen on Itch should not say Released and be changed to In Development

A quick bi-weekly status update would give people a lot more insight into when to actually expected a release. Nothing overly complicated, something simple:
Kal ensuring the availability of all Mods, Testers and Content creators, before speculating a release window
To name a couple suggestions...
Bugs: Regardless of how polished a game is until it is in the hand of the people they will never be all squashed. There will be multiple environmental factors that will not be met in automated and manual testing e.g. Windows OS Versions, Drivers Versions, Hardware Variants... it is unrealistic to think any game will be without bugs especially for a developer who is one man band.
I am Japanese, so please understand that my English is not very good.
I work for a game company and do development, so I know how difficult game development can be and how many unexpected things can happen.
But what people are criticizing is why they lied. Why was it postponed from the 10th to the 12th?

It would have been better if they had been honest and said there were a lot of issues and no idea when it would be updated.

Like you said before the main issue of these all ruckus is communication, if he would have told us clearly that he got some issues in testing and stuff and they will release as soon as problem gets fixed then everyone would have waited gently knowing that it almost completed and they need time for testing but they didn't say anything with clarity
I think you should give a precise date that you can realistically achieve, instead of giving a date that's not certain to be released. Currently, many people have been anticipating your release date only to be disappointed and let down, which is what makes those waiting so angry. (This is just my opinion; I appreciate your consideration.)
If this is a joke, then it's funny, if not... although it's probably not a joke, then it's disgusting, setting deadlines for yourself again, moving them 5 times already, this is disrespect for fans, subscribers and those who buy the game, with this success you can "expect" the release on Steam at the end of next year. And yes, with these postponements and ignoring the fans, the desire to follow this game just disappears.

One idea for a future game or spin off is something with the DnD dice game. Not gonna lie I love unlocking new characters in it and just the different abilities in it. Though an idea to add to the current version is to have a counter for how many rounds are left.
Another idea maybe a genderbend Adrian and Joseph or possible a spin off game where it's starmaker story but taking place in a house full of girls or femboys
