Background music would be nice...
Visual Aspects
The skateboard would look better with transparency, since the current background makes the character blend in too much.
The enemies could be represented as circles (points) appearing along the waves, giving them a more mathematical and coherent feel.
It would help to separate the gameplay area from the HUD, so the text doesn’t overlap with the character.
Gameplay and Movement
The jump feels clear and well executed.
The landing, however, feels more like a teleport than a natural motion; adding a smoother transition could improve the sense of movement.
Final Note
I hope my comments are helpful to you, Congratulations on participating in the jam!
Thank you for the helpful feedback! I appreciate the visual and gameplay suggestions, especially regarding transparency, HUD separation, and smoother landing. I’m glad you enjoyed the jump mechanics, and I’ll keep your points in mind for future improvements. Thanks again!
Cool concept! I think that the player could move a lot slower and have the speed progressively ramp up (If it isn't super fast on your pc it could be that the speed is based on the framerate). Other than that great job!
Thanks for the suggestion! I like the idea of gradually increasing the speed—I’ll try to make the player movement smoother across different PCs
You got this!
Moving your character along a sine wave was one of the first ideas I had too! And using it as a skateboard tricking ramp is a good extension of that. Nice work!
Haha, thanks! It seems the sine wave is a universal starting point for movement! It was definitely a 'why didn't I think of that sooner?' kind of moment for the ramp idea
