Nice little cute game, beat easy and hard mode. Here's my playthrough of the game it starts at 3:02:56. Great job! :D

I won! (in easy mode ^^)

It was difficult until I started attacking.

At that point, I became the danger ^^

I liked the bamboo concept, and I’ve also had to upload games without audio before, so been there, done that. The control setup felt a bit awkward for me. Maybe allow up/W to also be jump, so the player’s right hand can be used just for pressing L and K.

The movement is a bit stiff, and it was hard to hit the zombies, but for a first jam game, well done. Good luck on the rest of your game jam journey!

Thanks for the suggestions! I have never worked on platformers, so I will be trying to understand better control/movements. The attack animation's sprite length was kinda small, so It was really difficult to play, so I decided to make the hitbox a little longer since I didn't want to remake the attack animation, which made the attacks look and feel weird.

It’s all just a learning process :)

The movement is very stilted and the base attack sticks you in place with a poorly conveyed hitbox. I do like how the attack gets looser over time, and how the limited movement does make the zombies genuinely threatening at first.

Thanks for your feedback! The movement and attacks were certainly one of my weak points as I have never worked on platformers and I will be looking to improve my skills in movement controls.

I don't think the exit button works, makes the game freeze haha
I jumped straight into hard mode and it was indeed hard. The concept of loosing the bamboo when using it, and having to plan around picking some more before a fight gives this entry an interesting point. Control feels a bit clunky, but overal I'd say this is a cool jam entry

Thank you for your feedback, this was my first ever jam submission and my first ever "completed" game.  I don't think I ever tested the quit button on itch.io. I will try fixing it once the jam is over.
