I’m hoping to run a session of Detect or DIE on an upcoming Con! Any advice on how to present and adapt the game for that?

Oh, that's great! My main suggestion would be to pre-determine which skills the Detective will have, by picking out which Archetypes you want to have available for players - possibly skip Expertise, as well. How many players do you expect to have? If it's 5+, you can predetermine which 2 skills each archetype will bring to bear, so there's less choice/overlap.

I'd also try to have the initial scenario the Detective is in be relatively rich with stuff to engage with, and some big discoveries to make early on, since I assume they're unlikely to get terribly far in the Case within the time available. But, I don't know - I haven't run a convention game, so I don't have a lot of comparison! Godspeed!

I'm happy to give suggestions on any tweaks or ideas you have, just reply here and I'll try to get on them ASAP.

That’s probably good advice! Need to tweak my scenario to include more initial clues then.

One thing I’ve thought about is that it’s probably nice to let multiple PCs take part of a single investigation roll, somehow, in order for them to more quickly feel like they are contributing and ”playing”. Also makes it feel more like Disco Elysium where multiple skills may dynamically chime in. Any ideas on how to tweak the game to achieve something similar?

I think the easiest way to do that would be to have successful investigations make new rolls available, but specify that those new rolls need to be taken by another PC - one PC gets a success on, say, Reconstructure and gets some clue, and also the Detective is told there’s something of interest to Exofamiliarity there and gets the chance to follow the train of thought.
