Heads up to anyone trying to load the game on Firefox. It wouldn't work for me but switching to Chrome solved the issue!
The game idea for this was super intriguing to me! A light breadcrumb trail is such a cool concept that works so well for a horror genre. The upgrade system to make it farther and farther is also a really interesting mechanic. I can really see this being a solid premise for a full feature game.
Unfortunately I had quite a bit of lag and a few visual bugs (pink textures). I see that it was targeted for windows so I understand that's probably just a WebGL issue.
The enemies did not seem to hurt or hunt be down which I was expecting them to do. Again this could be a WebGL bug but adding in that extra scare factor would add a lot to the routing in my opinion.
Bugs aside it looked very nice and the dark lighting really fit the mood! Great work! Would love to try it on the Windows build once the jam is over.
I really wish I’d had more time to iterate on the WebGL bugs, for the ennemies etc
After the voting period I’ll release a more stable Windows version :) :) :)
Thanks for the feedback and for the time to try the game!<3
Creative Use of Bezi Ghost - Super cute idea to turn the Bezi ghost into a whole family of ghosts! Love it.
General Fun - Maze games aren't really the kinds of things I love to play, but this game brought some really cool ideas into the mix to make it feel really unique. The extension cord system was neat and having a shop was a huge thing to throw into a 4 day game jam, so props to the team for that! I'm looking forward to playing the optimized version of the game after the voting period because the game was really, really laggy and tough to effectively navigate. I'd also love it if the ghost could move sideways instead of only turning and going forward!
Art & Visuals - Pretty cute low poly style. The ghost designs were the highlight for me!
Unique Mechanics - As I mentioned up above, really clever idea to have the extension cable act as the source of light as you navigate through the maze. Felt a bit like Theseus and his thread weaving through the Greek Labyrinth.
Overall - A super cute game with a super cute premise. Wish it played a little smoother, but that's a game jam for ya! Great job!
It really means a lot to read a message like yours, it feels like a true reward for all the effort we put in and we’re especially happy that someone from the industry recognizes the work done in such a short amount of time
It’s definitely worth releasing a PC version that runs better. On the WebGL build the loading time for scene 2 is way too long and I’m afraid most players won’t wait that far to test it.
But yes, for a game jam project we can really be proud of ourselves, we worked hard and it paid off!
Thanks again for your kind and positive message <3
