Well the three stars of the jams have teamed up and knocked it out of the park. This is literally just a full features mini-game. It's not even a jam game. Your use of the theme is incredibly unique and fun. Your team even put in the details of the backgrounds for every single ancestor!
Some Notes :
- The buttons for opening the lockbox were a bit off. I'm not sure how you implemented the buttons, but they would trigger both too quickly (could have used a delay between each input) and when the hand wasn't close to it. I've always struggled to find a good solution to button pressing in VR, so I'd like to hear your approach here.
- Super nitpicky, but the hands of the ancestors would come through the mirror. Not sure if this was intentional or just a visual bug.
- I'm not sure if you used Inverse Kinematics for tracking or not, but the wrist would get twisted if you moved the remote too much in a certain direction. I'm wondering if you would be able to twist the forearm while tracking movement to prevent it.
- I say don't let me skip dialogue! You all worked too hard to have your voice acting skipped and gameplay skipped! At first I thought the audio was bugging out, but I noticed it was a feature you added in. I say, let the audience listen to your ancestors trying to get wild with you for "idle intercourse"! (or was it copulation? Whatever. It was hilarious)
The amount of detail in this game is astounding. The lighting is great, the voice acting (I'm assuming mostly Beard... all Beard?) was funny and spot on, and the mechanics were inventive.
Ian, Ameripon and Beard, I really cannot thank you enough for joining these jams. Your submissions always spark inspiration in others and show off unique ways we can use XR in game development.
Oh! And what assets and tools did you use? I would love to see it posted somewhere so others can use them too.
Happy Halloween!
