I haven't read The Music of Erich Zann, but now I really want to! I had a hard time memorizing the controls, but thanks to that I got to see the spectacle of buildings being destroyed and transformed. I found it somewhat amusing that the population dropped significantly and the repair shop and bookstore ended up unusable, but the orchestra was still playing. Poetic, in a way.

Lucky for you I included the story it was based on in the downloadable files!
As far as the controls, I tried to make it as easy to remember as possible, but I played on a keyboard and didn't get to try it with a controller. The concept I had in mind was that the arrow keys are the first half of the octave and the buttons were the second half of the octave. The order of notes on each of them from lowest to highest is the leftmost button, bottom-most button, rightmost button, and topmost button, but it may not have translated the way I wanted to controller format.
I'm glad you enjoyed it even though the controls were a bit rough to get used to!
