Hey, not sure if you're aware -- if you don't know the answer, you don't have to respond to the question. The attitude is unnecessary. You clearly don't know any more than the original commenter, so trying to lord over them and be condescending is honestly weird.

You're also weirdly active on this page (yet have no actual direct answers for anything other than how Ren'Py works in general) and every comment you leave has an attitude. You're literally a dude playing a porn game, just like everyone else here. You are no better than anyone else here. Humble yourself, and stop being a jerk to everyone.

Hope this helps.

if you don’t know the answer, you don’t have to respond to the question.

I do know the answer to the question.

Is the problem the answer or reference to the FAQ page? I do not find either of them have a negative attitude. I try to write short and terse answers. Questions answered in the FAQ page in the Wiki are asked quite a lot, so it seems useful to remind there is FAQ page.

I can stop lurking on this forum if that is the will of the people.

Customer service can be a tricky skill to master, I still fail at it all the time because I can be tired, annoyed, or frustrated with something irrelevant, so I sometimes unintentionally come across as an asshole if I provide a quick and blunt response for example.

I also would have given the answer that it's ready when it's ready, or more likely, not answer at all because I will make that clear in a post any time I do actually know.

It is very helpful to have someone knowledgeable answering questions for me, but people have certain expectations when engaging with a legitimate business. Pleasantries will go a long way, even if it's a performance, and everyone knows it. While we don't know each other, you are acting in my place by answering meta questions, so people have expectations tied to that.

extremely confused by this response as they seem to have answered the question perfectly, and clearly without attitude.

They answered nothing with their comment. OP asked when the next release is coming, and bad boy bobby over here said "when it's ready." That's not an answer; it's a pointless contribution lol

If you read their other comments across this page, you'd see what we're all talking about. Actually, you can just click their page and see their comments all across itchio for that matter. He's on several pages trying to speak for developers, as if they can't speak for themselves, most of the time not actually answering anything, and kinda being a dick about it. It's wild. At one point, someone commented asking about development progress towards a translation, and his response was, "If you want it so bad, you do the work." Or he'll answer a question and be like "Like I JUST said three hours ago...." as if he's legally obligated to be here or something lol

The developer himself (above your comment) addressed him having an attitude while answering questions on the developer's behalf -- instead of letting the developer answer. And the developer was friendly and professional about it -- not a dick.

I hope that clears up your confusion.

Hm, I can see your point of view ctfvy. It can be misconstrued due to how they are responding to others. And honestly? Could be Autism! Not even being demeaning or rude about it. After reading his comment, immediately i thought "what a smartass. You said a whole lot of nothing. No meaningful words or content." But, can I definitely say he was being a smartass or malicious? Nope! I havent seen his other comments because im new here, but I can see how one could jump to your conclusion. If it wasnt you, someone else would have said something, and probably with a lot more hostility.

Remember Kate from the game? He sort of talks like her 😅

Yeah, I 100% think your input is valid... but my 10 year old son has autism and shows way more kindness and tact than this guy. I absolutely get what you're saying, and I think it's kind of you to try to see their asshole-ness from their point of view, but autism isn't an excuse for being a dick. Someone asked about the progress on a translation of the game and his response was "If you want it so bad, you do the work." lol

Side note, I honestly was really upset about the way Kate was portrayed...... she's the only story I refused to finish. People with autism aren't emotionless shells... But I love this game, and realistically the audience isn't large enough that it's actually affecting their already highly stigmatized disability so... I guess at least they're getting recognition. But yeah, the first interaction I had with Kate I was like "yeah... this definitely seems like they're trying to create an autistic character based on what they see on tv" and then she came right out and said it ðŸ˜¬ oh well

I really hope their has been additions to Kate's story. It can absolutely be smoothed out, but there is a decent foundation. She is a side-character, but so much fun potential. I absolutely got attached and wanted more. Im going to wait for .21 rather than .20. The former should have story updates.

Outside of that, I can't disagree with you much. Mind you, content like this will attract more unsavory types than normal content. Calling them out and sticking up for others is always a good thing in my book, just dont let it wear down on your mental, cause i know it wears me down!!! Haha.
