To me the graphics are fine. I have assumed it is the artists style that makes things look like they do. I have seen other games that have almost photorealistic graphics, but to me Harem Hotel graphics are better.

It may be the current graphics engine is tedious to use or some other engine would produce desired result with less work, but project has been running 7 or 8 years now, change now would delay progress perhaps a year.

I have noticed the current engine has troubles when background is water with waves, then the outlines of foreground objects get wavy.

If the city is in lockdown, you can not go there and so all tasks and quests involving visiting the city are unavailable.

Lockdown is lifted in next version of game. Either you wait for that or go back to a save make before the last event for Lin was started.

Game does warn about the lockdown, but it is easy to not understand the implications.

Could it really have been a corrupted download twice in a row?

The zip file has checksum, if the file is broken the unzip or winrar detects that and shows error message. WinRAR should have a test function that shows downloaded file matches the checksum. If the checksum matches you have an intact and complete zip file.

Did you download from the links on this page under the Download -heading?

Verify disk has free space for the game, 13 GB for the download and another 13 GB to unpack the zip file.

If you have same problem with another game, too, maybe your new computer is faulty. Try for example running memory test to see RAM works correctly. Try Internet Search engines with “memory test” or maybe MemTest64 or similar tool.

Those are strange errors, like the game is missing parts or has stuff from old versions.

Only on Android is it necessary to copy save files.

On other platforms the save/ -folder contains copies of the save files that are store elsewhere. On Windows it is %APPDATA%, on Linux ~/.renpy/Harem\ Hotel-<random-number>/, on Mac something similar that I do not remember. All versions of game use that same place.

Installing new version of game to a new directory and loading save file from old version should just work.

I have not developed games with Renpy, but I know it uses Python code. In python 2 (which Renpy 7 uses) integer type is processor word size, which nowadays usually is 64 bit. There is data type long, which should always be at least 64 bits.

In Python 3 which Renpy 8 uses, integer type is unlimited. When game is ported to that new Renpy version you can have unlimited amount of money!

Is download always stopping when 4GB has been downloaded? Some filesystems have maximum file size 4GB, could that be the reason? Use File explorer to examine properties of that disk. If it is FAT file system, it has 4 GB max filesize.

You provide very little information, I can not guess what could be wrong. Just pressing the Download button works for me. Developers Patreon page has the download links too, you could try there but they should be the very same links.

If you have another PC you can use, download there and transfer to your PC using memory stick or other portable storage.

Verify what version you are playing. I think there was that kind of bug in v0.19.0, which was fixed in v0.19.1.

I just tried Mediafire, download is very fast and works.

Are you sure you have more than 13 GBytes free space on the device? Can you download successfully from somewhere else?

Perhaps show screenshot of the failed download, that might give clues on what is wrong.

You do not say how you are trying to download.

If that does not help, tell how you are doing the downloading and what happens when it does not work.

Strange errors. I can only suggest, like developer wrote originally, to download the full v0.19.1 zip and extract it to a new directory. Then try starting that and see if these strange errors disappear.

That should get a fully working game, unless files have been modified or cheat codes have been used to mess up the old saves.

If you just want to continue from where you last played the game, that works without cheat codes. The old save should work and you can continue. To be sure, make a save in main characters room and continue from that in the new install. If you play on Android, see Discord channel FAQ on how to copy save files.

It still says above on this page that patch applies to v0.18.0 or later, but it only works for patching v0.18.2 to v0.19.1.

For original poster: If my guess is correct, you can fix your setup by getting the HH v0.17+ > v0.18.2 PC Patch and copying only the garden.rpa file from that. Or installing the full v0.19.1 like developer suggested, but that is 13GB download instead of 1GB.
