this was a really special game! i played through it to the end and got most of the achievements/endings.
i really like the art style and art direction here - to me it’s really evocative of when you’re moving/clearing stuff and see all your past reflected back at your through your possessions.
there’s a good variety of objects/clutter too. some of my favourites include “gamer: the bird” and the comically broken headphones. i loved exploring the extra interactive features for some of the objects, and i thought the achievement system was a clever way of encouraging the player to thoroughly explore any objects that look like they might have a function.

i also liked the contrast between the final level and the previous two. while the first two were perhaps bittersweet, they felt almost cosy. in contrast, the final level really brings out the feeling of cold rejection that perhaps comes with moving out of an office, like this is an institution you don't belong in anymore. the hidden away personal items really added to that feeling. i thought overall the changes between the desks in each level were a very clever method of storytellingoh i also liked the funny cat USB in that level it was really good
most of my gripes with this are pretty much just technical/ease of use stuff. i keep accidentally dropping things when trying to move them and smaller items are impossible to retrieve once they’ve rolled offscreen. also, when i inspect items i tend to hold them in the center of the screen. (in the first level especially) the trash can is pretty close to the center of the screen, so it’s easy to accidentally throw something away that you didn’t mean to.
also, i’m not entirely sure how to get the functional, trash and sentimental endings? i tried to only keep items of those types but the card showing that it worked never appeared :(
