An idea you never started on, a project you abandoned, a forgotten TV show, or a DOS game no-one talks about.
Make anything!
Video games, physical games, music, movies, PDFs, traditional art, digital art, whatever!
Be kind. Don't crunch. Drink water. Sleep.

Optional modifiers
| Early to bed, late to rise | Start late or end early! Only spend 10 or less days on the jam! |
| Time Traveller | Revive a subject or style from a past decade, century, or millennium. |
| Día de Muertos | Honor someone who's no longer with us (either with your creation or a dedication within). |

Who is hosting this?
Society of Play is the host of Revival Jam. A 501(c) Non-profit organization for game-developers everywhere. We strive to create a creative & safe environment for developers to grow, share knowledge, and be inspired.

Common questions
What should I revive?
It can be a personal project left collecting dust, or any bygone thing forgotten to time: old VHS and laserdisk releases, home movies, forgotten ps1 games, etc.
The more it means to you the better. This imbues it with your power.
If you are hungry for inspiration, look in:
- Archive.org
- Library of Congress
- American Archive of Public Broadcasting
- Vintage / thrift stores
- Libraries and estate sales
- The family attic
Can I start early?
We'd rather you waited, but we're warlocks, not cops.
Is this the first Revival Jam?
NO! Society of Play has hosted "spoopy" Halloween jams for as long as we can remember. But in 2021 we renamed it to "Revival Jam"! Last year's can be found here.
Who made that amazing header art?
Kalish! They're amazing, follow them!
Can I submit my entry to multiple jams?
Yes! As long as your submission meets the rules and theme of our jam in addition to the other jams you're submitting to, go for it!
