ohh this one was SO charming! the story was really cute, i loved all of the hilariously dark alternate endings for what is a pretty silly game. the voice acting was also a really nice touch, i think it added a lot of character. my favourite character was definitely elri, she was so cute and mischevous hehe. i also thought the FMV music sequence was really special, the song being played was really nice too. well done!!

this one was really special - i think the aesthetic of an old movie really gave it a unique feel, and the “clicker game” format really lends itself to a game about the printing press. the mass market books having way more pages, too, kind of emphasised the drudgery of printing something you’re not passionate about - while for shorter, local author novels, the clicking is snappy and more fun
well done!!!

i really liked this one!
first of all the art was definitely a highlight. i loved the cute, pixel, almost sketch-like (in a good way) style - that along with the muted colours made it feel really nostalgic, like you really were stepping into the past.
i also thought all of the ghost designs were really fun. my favourite was the one with boobs LOL
furthermore, the framing of having all these locked doors to go through to get the thing you want, and also of travelling between the spirit world and the real world to get items, was classic and clever adventure game design. honestly id love to see more of an adventure game with these mechanics
Spoilers
the choice to kill horace was really unhinged and genuinely surprising LOL. i know he was fine in the end due to the fountain but it genuinely made me giggle so that was really nice. i liked him in general and his wimpinessall in all this was a nice little adventure game!!

this is “miss gloop”, she’s a corporate hero for The Gloop Corporation, a company that makes glowing green ooze (for traps and self-defense purposes only, of course) and is also a C-tier streaming service for some reason.
miss gloop entered a reality TV show where the reward would be to become the next “miss gloop” (representative of the corporation). she entered because it would give her the opportunity to meet the previous miss gloop in person, since she was a major fangirl. the plan was to meet the previous miss gloop then reject her new job offer and give it to the runner-up. however, she was contractually prevented from doing this.
she won because of the ability to shoot corrosive beams from her eyes that put her above the other contestants and made her a semi competent hero. however she only really managed to prove herself when a cabal of supervillains escaped their dimensional prison… she worked closely with skull shot to round them up, but in the process skull shot became more and more infatuated with her. it even seemed at one point like they were drawing the villains to her on purpose so they could swoop in and “rescue” her.
fortunately she thought this was pretty awesome and nice since nobody on the team had really been nice to her before, and also she’d never had a girlfriend/boyfriend so she thought this was normal stuff to do if you have a crush on someone. together they found the Shard of Hope, an item that only resonates when you have a special bond with someone, and used it to seal the villains away again :)
since then they’ve been a close-knit if slightly deranged duo. theyre currently on their way to stop the war between a demoness and her ex-wife, caused by her ex-wife taking the hellhound in the divorce…
(ps this definitely took me more than 5 minutes to write because i was enjoying thinking about it hehe. oh the art was drawn by me)
wow! this was really fun, the prompts are inspiring/spark creativity for a fun short little adventure. i liked the prompt at the end when you’re encouraged to write the journal entry - “why haven’t you given up?” - i thought it was a nice opportunity to inspire a little bit more depth to the character you build.
also the art and graphic design is phenomenal! it really adds to the atmosphere
yay i really liked this one!
first of all the art and music are definitely standouts. laser and temmie’s designs are really fun, they’re a very dynamic duo. i thought the music and the art worked well together to create a kind of nostalgic, “retro” and lo-fi feel. while the tone was a little silly at times (to its benefit!) i think the game still managed to hit on something real - that the expectations of others (e.g. your creators) shouldnt shape your life, and you should be able to figure it out as you see fit.
well done!!!

yay i really liked this one! a highlight was definitely the art, the painterly anime style is really beautiful. i also liked the surreal style of the background, it made the dream sequences seem really ethereal - colourful and innocent but also wrong at the same time.
personally i think the imagery used was very reflective of how the player character views daisy and what happened to her - it’s a distortion of something that was once innocent & it worked to help the game explore its themes
well done!

yayy i really liked this one!!
the setting is really interesting, i really love the core concept & how the etheral nature of the diner is disrupted by what was once a very real relationship. to me it highlights the disconnect you feel when someone you cast out of your past comes back into your life really well.
i also love the art style and character sprites, they feel really expressive! well done!

i really enjoyed this one! i loved the carefully paced storytelling & mystery unfurling amidst the creeping tension. the game design (slow movement speed but still having to think quickly to avoid the monster) and the art direction really wove together to create a genuinely tense experience! i especially liked the pixel art + the anthro character designs, they all had a lot of personality. well done!!

this was a really special game! i played through it to the end and got most of the achievements/endings.
i really like the art style and art direction here - to me it’s really evocative of when you’re moving/clearing stuff and see all your past reflected back at your through your possessions.
there’s a good variety of objects/clutter too. some of my favourites include “gamer: the bird” and the comically broken headphones. i loved exploring the extra interactive features for some of the objects, and i thought the achievement system was a clever way of encouraging the player to thoroughly explore any objects that look like they might have a function.
Spoilers
i also liked the contrast between the final level and the previous two. while the first two were perhaps bittersweet, they felt almost cosy. in contrast, the final level really brings out the feeling of cold rejection that perhaps comes with moving out of an office, like this is an institution you don't belong in anymore. the hidden away personal items really added to that feeling. i thought overall the changes between the desks in each level were a very clever method of storytellingoh i also liked the funny cat USB in that level it was really good

most of my gripes with this are pretty much just technical/ease of use stuff. i keep accidentally dropping things when trying to move them and smaller items are impossible to retrieve once they’ve rolled offscreen. also, when i inspect items i tend to hold them in the center of the screen. (in the first level especially) the trash can is pretty close to the center of the screen, so it’s easy to accidentally throw something away that you didn’t mean to.
also, i’m not entirely sure how to get the functional, trash and sentimental endings? i tried to only keep items of those types but the card showing that it worked never appeared :(
i really liked this one!
first of all i love how the protagonist is such a dedicated vampire hunter highschooler, it’s really endearing - i love how like, every mundane thing/class is being seen through the vampire hunter lens/as an opportunity to find out who’s a vampire
i also love the art, it’s really cute! both the designs really encapsulate the characters personalities really well. my favourite of the two is probably neil haha his design is very evocative of a Type of Nerd Guy
Spoiler
i also really loved how the one who was a vampire in the end wasn't the one you'd archetypically expect to be one (i.e. pale like sasha, who had a lot of traits you could interpret as being potentially vampiric but nothing conclusive), it genuinely surprised me because i was initially investigating sasha the whole time in case i missed some conclusive evidence! i think nerd boy vampires are really underrated, neil's whole Vibe was really good. the ending(s) really made me want to see more of these characters!well done!!!

hey, in case anyone was trying to get this to work on html5: the issue is that sometimes, when pulling from the dialogue youve defined from your speaker, you can leave it blank - since html5 is stricter, this undefined value youve passed in is an error rather than being detected as a 0 and not being passed on
say for example youve not defined colours for a line, instead of it looking like [0,0,0..] (i.e. default colours), it will look like this [undefined,undefined,undefined...]. the main solution is to add a !is_undefined(...) to the value youve passed in from the speaker. i hope this helps somebody!
this is really underrated! i didnt manage to get to the boss stage because i got stuck on the stage with the turning on and off lava geyser things (like, i don't think i could fall off and force kill or anything), but i feel like this strikes the perfect balance between frustrating/fun! well done :)
