It's a really solid start! I think it could use some more feedback on the attacks to elevate it a bit - having a "slash" effect pop up to show the hitbox of the sword slash, a little knockback on the enemy so they get pushed away, and an impact sound so you know it hit.
Nice little hack and slash game.
Hey — I just played Griff's Graveyard and really enjoyed the mix of spooky skeletons and playful combat — the shake effect when hitting objects added a fun, tactile feel. The “trick vs candy” surprise was clever and gave the game a little edge of humour. One thing I found: when the TV said the gate was open but it wasn’t, I wasn’t sure if I’d missed something or if it was a glitch — maybe a clearer visual cue or checkpoint could help.
If you’ve got a moment, I’d love it if you could check out my game and drop a rating: https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-halloween-jam-2025/rate/3971977
— thanks so much and best of luck in the jam! 🎃
what a CUTE game!
Really cute! I really enjoyed it! Maybe the only thing that's a little off is the TV, but only visually! But actually, I find it adorable. Keep it up!
Neat little game. Loved the shake effect on objects that weren't skeletons when you hit them. The tainted candy was a nice "trick". Killed me the first time.
The TV didn't make much sense, and even though I activated it and it said the gate was open, it wasn't. Ultimately, it didn't feel like there was much gameplay.
It's a really good start!
Loved the concept. Combat was pretty decent but it would've been nicer if there were more abilities or if the ending was way more complex to get to. Overall I liked it alot, keep it up!
Relatively short game but was fun to play and the transition from main menu to gameplay was smooth. I went around smacking random items/props a lot just for that little shake they do.
