Well I tinkered around with this for a while, but I couldn't get cogworks to install correctly so I didn't end up playing.
Great game! Setup wasn't too bad, didn't expect it, but made a lil venv and installed the verified package. Easy was a bit intimidating, so I imagine hard might be for hardcore gamers.
In the end, 43 candy aint too bad!
This gave me paperboy vibes, I liked it!
Yeah a few steps too much to expect people to do that just to play for few minutes. But I respect that you work with your own engine. Artsyle in your site and menu and background in game looks all very nice and climatic. Instructions for installation are clear for anyone who uses python. I would suggest to contact support of the game jam on their discord and ask for permission to build exe even after the deadline. They shouldn't have problems with it. Good luck :)
Unfortunately, I don't think most people will do what you need to play the game.
It also looks super sketchy from an unknowing user's perspective.
But it's neat that you made a game in your own engine!
Thanks! Yeah, all the source code is included, it just runs on Python with PIP dependencies, so anyone familiar with that setup will understand how it works. I know most people probably don’t have Python and PIP installed already, and I wish I’d had time to build it into a standalone .exe, but unfortunately I couldn’t fit that in this time.
