Was not a fan of the controls. Would definitely like some remapping or a keybind to open the upgrade menu. I totally got destroyed any time I tried to buy upgrades. Anytime I came out of the menu, I'd get destroyed before I could reorient both my hands on the keyboard.

The game looks great, the movement and action feel great. You did really well with this one.

I wasn't happy, when I saw shoot was on Z, because german keyboards have the Z and Y switched and a lot of games like to put things on Z and X, but somehow it fired on Y. Good job on that.

Very nice sprites. The Soundeffects got a bit loud, when a lot of bullets came at once. Overall really good job tho.

Kezboard moment. We made sure to use physical keyboard placements so that nobody with a regional keyboard is left out. I am typing this using a German keyboard myself.

WOW, great game! super  polished pixel art, amazing character design, super fun to play, good controls. Overall one of the best entries I've played so far. Great job!

thanks.

Thanks. It was pretty fun getting to design and sprite the enemies and bosses. Vel also did a very good job at designing the main character. Glad you liked the game.

Glad you enjoyed it! :D

Really great and charming art as well as well balanced gameplay! A lot of the submissions are either too hard or way too easy. This game has a very nice balance

Developer

Thanks, keeping a balance was one of the biggest challenges in this jam due to Bullet Hells being on the more esoteric side (not many have played them properly, being rather left behind here and those who did already know how to dodge all of the water droplets when taking showers.)  I'm glad to hear that we have accomplished what we've set out to do.

The amount of polish this game has for being a week is amazing, love the art style and defiantly can see it getting addicting. Only thing I would say like the previous comment is the pause menu making it to where you have to take your hands off the movement causing you to get hit sometimes.

Thank you for the feedback and for playing! In case we do plan on expanding the game, we'll rework the pause screen as one of our first priorities.

Quite surprised to see a shmups game here, very nicely done. I really love this kind of game, but very bad at it xD

Nice artwork and fun boss to fight, the music is very 2000s, good time.

The P to pause caused me some problems to upgrading the character.

Overall, very nice game, Good work

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! the urge to make a shmup was just that strong.

Glad you liked the music. One of my main inspirations for the little soundtrack was the music of Daisuke Nagata, composer of several early 2000s shmups like Radirgy, Karous and Chaos Field. I also took some inspiration from genres like UK Garage and 90s Techno.
