This piece does a really nice job telling a story. I love the back and forth between the more confident sections and the more reserved and tip-toeing sections. The section at 0:44 and each of the repeats is my favorite part! The way the melody plucks over the pizzicato bass is so pleasing. You have a few other sections that have a similar feel and offer slight variation which I think is very smart and similarly excite me!

Constructive feedback: I am wondering if maybe I have a lack of knowledge of the reference material, but I have a hard time connecting this piece with the theme. I recognize that not all gambling happens in casinos, but I also try to rate correlation to theme based on if I could reasonably pick out the given theme if I didn’t know it just by listening to the song. You have such a nice story-telling arc to this piece, but I’m curious what your interpretation of the connection to the theme is?

Overall, I really enjoyed this track and I think that your counterpoint and voice-leading guiding the trajectory of the harmony is particularly well-made. Great work and thank you for sharing!

Theme response:

It's jumping the shark a little because it's a deliberate variation of an Alan Parsons piece which is -about- gambling but brings a little Lewis Carroll into it by matching similar sounding words turn of a friendly card -> camelopard as if someone were doing a Weird Al Yankovic of it.

Glad you gave it a shot though!

Cheers
