OK, THIS GAME BLEW MY MIND! HOLY SHIT ITS AMAZING, UODWHUGQDWHUQWLKBDH

I DID NTO EXPECT AN RPG GAME  THAT IS A LOT LONGER THAN MOST OF THESE GAMES ON THIS JAM, THATS CRAZYYY! Now I did realize that you used something called "Bakin." I HAVE NEVER EVEN HEARD OF THAT. As someone who is primarily an RPGMaker guy, may I ask your opinion on it?

ALSO, I understand that your game engine and also assets helped with making something big in a short amount of time. BUT STILL, it blew my mind, because I never would've expected something like this.

ANWAYS LET ME TELL U WHY I LOVE THIS!

  • ENJOYMENT: IM NOT SOMEONE WHO EVEN LIKES A LOT OF RPG's. SO THE FACT I LIKE THIS GAME SAYS A LOT! MOST RPG JUST HAVE SOME STUPID ASS CUTSCENE AND THEN A YOU GET DAMAGE NUMBERS. But nah, THIS GAME DOES IT WITH ACTAUL INTERACTION. I FORGOT THE NAME OF THIS POWER BUT MY FAVORITE IS THE ONE THAT FEELS LIKE AN ARCADE SHOOTER! ALSO I LOVE GAMES THAT DO STUFF LIKE Undertale OR Mario&Luigi Franchise BECAUSE I LOVE DODGING ENEMIES ATTACKS (Or at least guarding my self), NOT JUST TAKING IT LIKE IM A PU**Y. Also Exploring with the septic eye's was cool, even if it was pretty underdeveloped. I don't blame ya that you couldn't do much with them, again 5 days... ALSO EXPLORING WAS... WELL ACTUALLY KIND OF FUN???? AGAIN I WASNT EXPECTING MUCH, ITS NOT LIKE THE EXPLORATION IS PEAK, BUT GOING THROUGH A MAZE AND SEEING COOL LITTLE DETAILS, IN GAME THAT TOOK 5 DAYS IS AWSOME!!!
  • CREATIVITY: Ok ill stop with the all caps lmao. I like the idea of having to balance out your lives in order to progress. What a cool idea. Also this goes back to the fighting, but you had really cool ideas for attacks and enemy attacks, theres a lot of variety. and also I like the visuals the enemies and Purplebottom have. I guess what im trying to say is I like that this game has variety which contributes to its creativity.
  • THEME: WOOOOOO. Not much I can say than I like the idea that dying doesnt just give you one thing (like most of these jam games), but instead multiple. Not only do you die to get combat ready, but also to get stronger, and get different characters to play as. The only problem is that they feel so cool yet so underdeveloped. I don't blame you though, it was 5 days to complete this. While it was cool to play as different characters, it felt like they weren't used a lot, they felt...rushed. Again I don't blame you since it was 5 days, but i felt the need to mention it since it makes someone feel like "aww that's it?" BUT WHATEVS, ITS GREATTT, AND GETTING A NEW POWER FILLS U WITH EXCITEMENT!!!! (sorry I lied about the all caps thing)
  • VISUALS: Maybe its just me, but does this game give off like late 1990's to early 2000's vibe, with its graphics? I love how they arent overly detailed and i love how the monsters look. Everything is how id imagine those old rpg's back in the day, why do I feel so gosh darn nostalgic??? I love this!!!!!
  • OVERALL: I guess overall, this is a REALLY COOL GAME! The fact that i saw a save button, I knew "Wait is this game really that long for a jam game??? COOL!" However Oddly, I feel like while it added a lot of stuff, it also suffered from polish due to there being so much. The problem with jams is you have to figure out how to balance Creation with Polish. Creating something is one thing, and making something work is another. I had problems where I was a bit confused by some of the powers, and I also wished you put the controls in the description of the game and not just the game itself, because I like to have Itch.io on my 2nd screen to see controls for games. There was a lot of trees that were floating as well. Also i found bug:

To be honest, maybe I like this game so much because my expectations were so low for jam game made in 5 days, so if it was 10 days Id probably be not as impressed, but that doesn't matter. You blew my expectations and I'm happy with that.

What's funny is that I only played this game cuz I saw it when you posted your comment on our game. Thanks so much, I'm glad you commented so I got to play your game.

Thank you so much for... your essay of an answer! xD

Yes, I recommed using Bakin if you're familiar with RPG Maker. You dont need to write code at all, you can do almost anything you can come up with using events. If you know how to code, you can also write your own scripts. It's a very powerful tool, I made my own assets and went with a low-poly artstyle because it's less time consuming. You can go crazy with normal maps, lighting and physics if you wanted. I have over 3000hrs of experience using it and I've been growing my own library of 3d models and stuff. This is the 8th jam I've participated in. There's a demo version on steam if you want to check it out.

I'm really glad you enjoyed exploring, other people had issues getting lost or with the camera. This game really needs a map or some sort of direction. But like you said, only 5 days. I wanted to have unique areas for the septiceyes but that was all I managed to complete. I didn't want to spend that long on the map.

I'm going for a n64/ps2/DS artsyle, but I havent gotten there yet. I'm stuck in an uncanny valley between n64 and gamecube. Some models are too smooth or too detailed to be from a n64 game.

The houses dont have accurate collision, i just used cubes, and forgot to add it to one of them lol

Again, thank you so much for your feedback, I'm really happy you enjoyed my game. I'll keep trying to improve to make better games in the future!
