When I saw the announcement for this jam I was too intimidated to join with the 5 day limit, but I knew that if i didn't join I would have regretted it. So I'm really glad I did. I decided to enter solo because I've never worked on a team and I just wanted to see how things go. Next time I'd like to join someone. I got to play so many wonderful games and I got to see people react to my game live and participants leave a comment (sometimes an essay!). They gave very valuable feedback. I learned a lot about what I'm doing wrong (and right) and I'll be able to improve my game as well as future games.
Big Thank you to everyone who played my submission! Shoutout to the streamers who were patient enough with it:

And here are some of my favorites games out of the 64 I had time to play and rate:
I may be forgetting some... too many games to remember
I would also like to hear about your experience on this jam. Was this your first jam? your first game? are you an experienced dev? Did you make new friends?
I'm very happy people seem to love Mr. Purplebottom!

Thank you Jack, Ducky for hosting this jam!
I want to add some more I played today:
Snuffed Out Unique use of the theme, clever puzzle-solving
Until Then Very emotional, excellent story-telling
Abracadavers Very funny, nice visuals and music
Strife and Death Challenging old school GB style game, clever use of the theme
I may be forgetting some...
This one is amazing. Only has 6 ratings so far

Thank you so much for... your essay of an answer! xD
Yes, I recommed using Bakin if you're familiar with RPG Maker. You dont need to write code at all, you can do almost anything you can come up with using events. If you know how to code, you can also write your own scripts. It's a very powerful tool, I made my own assets and went with a low-poly artstyle because it's less time consuming. You can go crazy with normal maps, lighting and physics if you wanted. I have over 3000hrs of experience using it and I've been growing my own library of 3d models and stuff. This is the 8th jam I've participated in. There's a demo version on steam if you want to check it out.
I'm really glad you enjoyed exploring, other people had issues getting lost or with the camera. This game really needs a map or some sort of direction. But like you said, only 5 days. I wanted to have unique areas for the septiceyes but that was all I managed to complete. I didn't want to spend that long on the map.
I'm going for a n64/ps2/DS artsyle, but I havent gotten there yet. I'm stuck in an uncanny valley between n64 and gamecube. Some models are too smooth or too detailed to be from a n64 game.
The houses dont have accurate collision, i just used cubes, and forgot to add it to one of them lol
Again, thank you so much for your feedback, I'm really happy you enjoyed my game. I'll keep trying to improve to make better games in the future!
Oh, here's a couple more I made before if you have time to try them:
Really good game. Love the lowpoly artstyle, the character designs, and the stop-motion animation. It adds a lot of personality. Gameplay is fun and great atmosphere. I think I encountered a bug, I collected 12 pieces of wood and died. Respawned at the campfire but couldnt add them to the fire. Nevertheless, great job!
