Amazing! I can't believe how much  you did in such a small amount of time.
The art style was really cool and the sound was well done. I thought the mechanic felt very creative and fit the theme well, as well as the additional theme call out right at the end.

The area opening mechanic was a bit confusing at the start, since you can't see it opening.
In the torch hunt section it would be nice to know how many torches are left.
I'm not sure if you were aware, but the speed is a lot faster when moving diagonally. I think it would be nice to have a way to sprint, even if just a little with the FOV increase trick to make it feel faster than it is. But I get that walking probably fit the spooky game better.

Really good vibe and story, felt like a complete experience.

Excellent job, well done!

Yay thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah I can see how the new areas opening up aren't too obvious since there's no visual indicator that it happened, I think I may have a way to alleviate that issue if I continued to work on the game post jam. For the lanterns, this is an issue brought up with multiple people about objectives so that would be fixed if I can have an objective listed somewhere. Also I did NOT know that you moved faster going diagonally, I thought that the map wasn't quite big enough to really need a sprinting mechanic but maybe I can do a small speed increase.

Thank you for leaving the feedback and I'm glad you felt like it was a complete experience! (I didn't have to cut anything out from my original idea so that probably helped)

I agree with the map no really needing it, could be just a fun thing to try out. That's why I mentioned just making it minor and exaggerating it a bit with FOV.  Just an idea I got because of the minor diagonal speed bug, since it was fun speeding around a bit.

It's great to hear that you have ideas already for the other things I mentioned, I hope you end up implementing them. Either way, it's good to think about these kind of things since it's good experience for future games, which I hope you keep making :)
