The uncomfortable atmosphere of a family gathering has been captured so well, I really felt for and related to the main character (+ your art is really cinematic and beautifully presented, I love it so much)
Really looking forward to seeing whatever you make next 🫶❤️
I really love the art style and the cinematic presentation of the game. The story is... depressing. When all eyes were on Jae-Ik, I felt like I was judged alongside him. A very amazing game.
This was such an accurate, and heartfelt representation of generational trauma. You could really feel the helplessness, pain, and rage the protagonist has felt throughout the years up until the moment the game starts (and ends), and when Jae-ik finally snaps, it feels very real, raw, and heartbreaking. Thank you for making it- I think it has the potential to go down as a classic RPG maker game!
Very accurate depiction of depression.
Surrounded by people who just simply doesnt understand him, Jae-ik struggles to become an artist that he himself can be proud of, while dealing with tense family situations like degradation of his passion, expectation as an eldest son in a patriachical family, and jealousy of someone who manages to get the love and adoration from everyone.
Being born into a well off family and having adult figures not understanding the new and harsh struggles of modern generation is also realistically stressful. "I managed to be successful. Why cant you?" type of ignorance.
Each and every moment feels like you are suffocating in this environment where escape seems to be impossible. It almost feels like you are "survivng" through dinner by making the "correct" social choices.
And as a Korean immigrant who has very similar experience of living in an environment where no one seems to fully understand you (albeit it was more or less queer oriented on my end), I can't help but feel sympathy for Jae-ik.
While some of the texts seems to get cut off sometimes, and names occasionally showing up as Korean, the bugs are minimal enough to not hinder the overall experience.
I would love to see more stories like this, and more works depicting Korean culture and society.
세상 모든 유재익씨들, 힘내세요!.
I had the privilege of reading this beside Haru and experience their reaction, so I can surely tell that you resonated with somebody who understands the experience you were trying to convey.
The tension was great, the artstyle is nice and unique. Its crazy how much you drew for this, this is the visualest novel I experienced in this jam so far. I especially liked that scene where dad looked down on jake, without words even being said, there was so much tension there.
I read that this is the first game that you developed and this is something to be proud of! I want to see more from you!
Only a few minutes in, I am dying bc this is way too real. I absolutely love the cinematography of this, the pacing, the mood, I am loving this so far.
NOT THE IMMEDIATE ATTACK THE MOMENT U BREATHE INTO THE LIVINGROOM AND BEING COMPARED TO THE OTHER CHILD. LOVE ITOkay back to serious: The art here is so great, I love every CG here and I'm shocked by how much there is. I did notice that some lines are missing the first letter of a few sentences, but everything is still understandable!!
I'm trying to get another ending, and I'm wondering if it has to do with the energy levels at the top...? I'm unsure if I'm doing things correctly but I'm so curious about that second ending... I must try again later. ;o; navigating the battlefield of family dinners really do be hitting hehe
I really liked playing this and reading this, I feel bad for Jae-ik...
Really incredible story! You really nailed down that feeling of helplessness and inadequacy at a family gathering. The visuals were also outstanding, your understanding of perspective blew me away. I loved playing through every second of it. Please continue to make games!
